Vincent was screaming about having T'Ros pay for her involvement. He wanted to have the Liwei or some other ship beam down their marines and take Vorta'Rome by force.
Nicole walked in, still reeling from her home life only to hear more yelling. She tried to calm Vincent down. She found herself in a totally new role. She was helping Vincent deal with his grief at the rescue but failure to save Victoria Viceroy. Nicole was the consoling one. She just wanted someone to do the same for her.
Vincent continued to bark about taking the Romulan city by force. Nicole reminded Vincent that Borg Scout, heavily armoured could not take the city. A Romulan garrison could not take the city. Commander T'Ros and her loyalists are hunkered in. Not even a garrison of Federation Marines could take the city now.
Nicole smiled, "There is another solution."
Nicole sat down at the console and engaged the keyboard, "We could file a Writ of Securement for Commander T'Ros with the Romulan Star Empire."
"A what?", Vincent looked puzzled.
"We will inform the Romulan Praetor that Commander T'Ros is the primary suspect in a murder and conspiracy investigation and though we understand that as a citizen of the Romulan Empire, she is protected by her diplomatic immunity, we would like her secured from leaving the city of Vorta'Rome and her privileges restricted pending further investigation. The Romulans already don't like her. They tried to take the city by force. They will put her under house arrest until we can get this whole thing figured out.", Nicole smiled.
"Damn Bureaucrats, you are all the same.", Vincent snapped. He thought of the downfall of the King's Fleet and how the bureaucracy became so vile, it made the fleet non-functional.
Nicole smiled, "Within the hour, the Romulan Regional Praetor will react."
Nicole poured a coffee, offering a cup to Vincent. She was proud of herself. This should work.
Nicole was walking towards her office when the subspace message link chimed. She turned to a wall console.
"The Romulan Star Empire identifies the plot by the Regional Federation Command to assume control of the Romulan Colony at Vorta'Rome. The Romulan Star Empire sees the accusations against Commander T'Ros as unfounded and impossible. The Commander, not only has the support of the Empire, her actions in defence of the city are encouraged. The Office of the Regional Praetor requests that any actions against Commander T'Ros or the City of Vorta'Rome be stopped immediately or further actions may be undertaken by the Romulan Blockadge.", the message stopped reading aloud.
Before Nicole could even turn around, Vincent yelled, "Nicole!!"
She smiled as she walked back.
"Now what?", Vincent snapped.
"Posturing takes time, my dear.", Nicole smiled, suddenly in control.
"They had to defend themselves, but they will come around.", Nicole was reawakened by the power in the message.
"The Empire is not about to stand on the whims of a murderer. I think I know the Romulans.", Nicole smiled.
"You'd better.", Vincent snapped as he headed for the door and over to the Academy.
