The gala event was held to reaffirm Carleton Porter as Governor of Reykja Penthe. Mr. Porter would once again replace the interim governor T'tan who will return to her duties with the board of the Ice Dilithium mining company.
Carleton was so suave as he spoke acknowledging Nicole Branson, Admiral Viceroy and the colonists. He promised to live up to their legacy of toughness, adaptability and courage.
Christine was there to cover the event for RBC. She always had a soft spot for the Anticans. She and Colonel Brown had been in each other's company for a long time. She was very impressed with Carleton as he acknowledged the service at Antican B7.
She had not seen Bell in two weeks as he joined the Dogs of War in the badlands of Reykja Penthe. Bell was in his glory but Christine was left all alone. She heard that Carleton was going to be using one of the holo suites at the casino.
She snuck in to give the Antican a surprise.
Carleton looked at the hybrid beauty and smiled. Here he had always been an outcast. Perhaps this was his way in.
