The screams from the other prisoners were horrible. The addiction to sim sense, to being jacked on was very real for these people. The oppressive world within which they existed was a horrible one filled with hardship, urban gang violence and horrible races of hideous features.
These people refer to the goblin inaction when approximately 10 percent of the worlds populations became creatures of ancient Earth myth like goblins and orcs. For many of the great world religions, these creatures were an abomination and were banished or imprisoned from many of the worlds countries. People feared their appearance as freaks or monsters.
Nicole was often moved to tears by the horrid treatment of these monsters. She had learned about inclusive politics in the Omega Fleet. She had built a foundation on a home for everyone in her service to the King's Fleet.
The screams were particularly horrible this evening. It was like someone was killing a pig, the squeals were so pain-ridden. Nicole knew the Tellarite origin of the species. She knew the founding race of the United Federation of Planets drew its origins from the common pig. She had always had a fondness for these crotchety people. The screams haunted her night as she tried to cover her head.
She could not help herself any longer. She had to see. She snuck around the corner to see the Tellarite being brutally washed by the pressure hose.
Grace gripped the sides of the cage as the guard shouted, "Dirty Orc pig!"
Nicole knew little about this universe's politics but she begged them to stop. The guard shouted, "These creatures don't have any rights. They have been excommunicated by the church. They have had their citizenship revoked. They have no citizenship card unless they are married to a human."
"She is married to a human. She is married to me.", Nicole gasped. Grace had betrayed her and walked out. Grace looked at Nicole.
Grace fell to the floor of the cage, crying. Nicole crawled on top of her naked body and just lay there.
The guard tossed a few towels, "Clean her up! You will have to share you rations. We don't feed freaks here."
Grace just lay there sobbing.
The inhabitants of Earth and the Alpha Quadrant have no idea of what the victory over the Krenim has cost these people. No victory comes for free.
