Thua'ra knew that Marino would be very upset after learning of his promiscuity. Now this! The entire King's Fleet moving back into the Klingon Empire. Whoops! Klingon Federation. This is going to take some getting used to.
Thua'ra had already been to Cold Camelot a couple of times. He had seen Colonel Acrylos Teero-Lau set off a couple of incendiary devices to at least create about 12 hours of positive Celsius temperatures. It would still be light coat weather but it would not be freezing like it was.
Thua'ra had never seen so many Klingons on the surface than now as Chancellor Kabarann continued to force integration. Many had enrolled in the Academy hoping for assignment to the Honey Bee after Chancellor Lupac Kabarann turned over command of the now legendary Klingon ship to Colonel Velvet Sanders of the King's Fleet.
Zek had already opened a bar on the surface. Ishka could find a way to make Latinum in freaking hell. Ro Marino had been very busy taking as much as possible from Carlisle Asteroid to be used here on Reykja Penthe. He had also been assisting the Cardassian Trade Delegates in getting the Antarian Accelarant to Cardassia and its member states in the Union.
Marino changed from his uniform into a light jacket and a black mini skirt and headed to the surface to meet fellow Bajorans, Acrylos Teero-Lau and Matio Kira. He just wanted to have a drink but the rough around the edges Klingons knew who he was. They began teasing and taunting him about his lifestyle choices and even pushing and shoving the bi-gender officer. One of the Klingons grabbed his butt cheek.
Ambassador Thua'ra Varno was in Ishka's for a drink of his own. He stood up, "That is enough."
"Varno!", one of the Klingons snapped, "We all know about you. We know about what you did to impress the Antarians. You may have played with this freak but in the. End you proved you were all man; all Cardassian. You are done with this faggot. Leave it to us."
Varno pushed the table forward, "I said that is enough!!"
"You and your people used to have real power. The Federation and these people have made you soft. That will not happen to us, we are Klingons.", the Klingon violently shoved Marino into the wooden bar chair.
Varno walked over and helped Marino to his feet. They both slowly walked outside. Varno looked at the Bajoran beauty.
"You look lovely tonight.", Varno looked at Marino.
"You betrayed me with those women. At the first sign of need, you chose Cardassia over me.", Marino started to sob. Varno tried to grab his hand but Marino pulled away.
"Here it is going to be worse. Klingons are not like the colonists in the Delta Quadrant. They will see this relationship as abhorrent. They will treat you badly and you are the Cardassian ambassador. You need their support. We are through, Thua'ra.", Marino was now outright crying as he tapped his combadge, "Dawn, one to beam up."
As the Bajoran disappeared into the coloured hue, Thua'ra Varno felt tears of his own well up. He had survived the occupation of Bajoran. He had survived betrayal, acts of evil and yet it was this event that touched his heart. Varno looked out as the snow started to fall. The incendiary Bajoran mini summer had started to give way to Reykja Penthe cold. A cold emptiness filled the heart of the Cardassian.
Zek came out and handed his old friend a glass of Kanar. The Ferengi bartender looked at Varno, "There are no stops in an acquisition only delays in sale processing."
The Ferengi was once famous for misquoting the Ferengi Rules of Acquisition but somehow the words buoyed the Cardassian. Maybe it was not over.
