Omega Cup 2389 – Game One: Tokyo vs. Osaka Empty

Nicole and Magenta walked up with Vincent and Elizabeth. It was the first time the two "First couples" of the colony had appeared in public together. Nicole was disappointed to see protests from the Bajorans for Boston not being included in the games. Vincent also endured a tirade from Wells City faithful who claimed that the city was excluded because Eugenio Coren was their mayor and the estranged husband of his new girlfriend Elizabeth Coren.

Nicole went inside. She and Magenta took their seats. The stadium was packed. This was the peaceful rematch of a grand rivalry. The crowd roared as Colonel John Wayne of the Hawks of Hell came out for the coin toss. The Osakan Talosians cheered wildly for the hero of the Tamarian invasion and the Tamarians booed soundly for the Colonel. The scene was positively wonderful and reminscent of the glory of Universiade 2386.

Nicole smiled as Talosian fans complained that Bill Clinton had allowed Tamarians to leave the Omega Sands early to practice. Clinton himself was on the sidelines coaching the Tamarians. The migrant had become the leader of the Tamarians both in name and in actual form. The Tamarians were such hard workers and had diverted their attention away from jealousy of the Talosians to improving their city. The work had been incredible.

The first goal of the Omega Cup went to the Tamarians on a header on a long cross. Bill Clinton almost lost his mind jumping around. He ran back to the crowd and gave his 2 year old step son Nicolas Russo a big high five. Nicole could feel the energy in the stadium. The event was a huge success.

The first half ended, 1- 0 Tokyo. The half time presentation was put together by Commander Elora Vasa. The Betazoid did an incredible job. Brenna had a whole bunch of oooohs and ahhhhhs for the fireworks display.

Brenna and Nicky were soon running around the corridor as the 12 year old chased the 2 year old. Nicole laughed as she watched the children play tag. Magenta walked up carrying little Colby. Nicole tickled her under the chin. She had not thought about Trista Coren-Branson is too long. A shred of jealousy entered her thoughts. Elora had done a wonderful job. She had two wonderful children. She had a supportive partner and she had a 1-0 lead going into the second half.

When the Talosian was tripped in the box, Colonel John Wayne who had only learned the game in the previous few weeks jumped out of his box seat screaming. The Talosians were awarded the penalty kick. Bill Clinton went crazy on the sidelines.

The Talosians scored to tie the game. The stadium was electric. The game was tied one to one.

As the game entered penalty time, the tension was incredible. Nicole turned to Vincent, "Well done, Commodore. The beautiful game has brought a safe outlet for the colonists."

Vincent smiled. A long lead pass led the Talosians striker into the corner. Everyone knew the cross was coming. The incredible header by the bird-like Talosian sent the ball into the upper left corner. The Tokyo Staidum went totally silent as the time ran out.

Nicole looked at Vincent, "Sport imitates life."

Vincent looked at Elizabeth, "Are you going to RICKs or Oz?"

The beautiful Betazoid smiled, "I think we will head into the Capital."

"Are you ladies coming?", Elizabeth asked.

"Yeah right, we are gonna go to the club with my mother?", Magenta poked fun at Liz.

Elizabeth laughed, "Hey."

Nicole smiled, "We are going to go to the Commune, but we will come over to RICK's for supper in about an hour."

Nicole looked at Bill and Elora. Clinton looked so disheartened. Nicole smiled, "You can't win 'em all."

"They tried so hard.", Bill frowned, "I just wanted them to experience a victory."

Elora rested her head on his shoulder.

"Are you coming to the Commune?", Magenta asked.

"We have the children.", Elora smiled.

Brenna came running out, "I could watch them."

Nicole looked at her 12 year old, "I don't know sweetie."

Elora looked at Nicole, "We could take them to your house and give Brenna a personal transporter link. If problems developed, she could beam me directly to your house."

Nicole smiled, "I guess you have a job, little Brenna."

Soon Nicole, Magenta, Elora and Bill were jumping around the Commune. There were Talosians, Tamarians and even a huge beach ball painted like a soccer ball bouncing above the dance floor. This is exactly what Vincent had hoped to get out of the tournament.

Nicole's head was huge as she got out of bed. She went downstairs to find Elora sleeping on the couch and Bill sleeping in the chair. Colby was sleeping next to Brenna on the floor and Nicolas was in the kitchen playing with toys on the floor. She smiled.

A migrant, two Betazoid children, a genetic experiment and a hangover. Proof that life on the colony was finally like a home.
