The Omega News Network had secured exclusive rights to broadcast the great trade of the USS Flagstaff to the United Federation of Planets at Journet 5 on the fringes of the Typhon Expanse. This was going to be the grand finish to a very ugly incident in the fledgling history of the Phoenix Federation - United Federation of Planets.
The death of Colonel Goddard has been on every network within the Federation Broadcast Network. FBN has been calling him a "renegade" and a "rebel" and not representative of the United Federation of Planets.
The Omega News Network has called him a "brutal warlord" who invaded the territory of the Phoenix Federation and the Beta Quadrant Klingon Colony of M'Payel.
Commodore Vincent Viceroy himself travelled to Jersey to take command of the Flagstaff. Vincent had convinced his cousin, Commander Vermont Viceroy, Executive Officer of the USS Providence to join him on the Flagstaff. The crew will be made up of students from Viceroy's Omega Academy including Crewman Indigo Coren who will serve as Operations Chief becoming yet another of the Valedictorians to graduate to a Phoenix Fleet vessel.
Nicole Branson and Governor Eugenio Coren arrived a bit after testing was complete. It was the first time that Nicole and Eugenio had been together since the annulment of her marriage to Magenta Coren. There was a definite cold. Nicole already had a dislike for the Betazoid Governor and to have this on top of it did not help matters.
The pair will represent the Phoenix Federation during the exchange. Captain Vanessa Sanders will bring the Providence in pursuit to return the senior command to the colony. Vanessa will have Lt. Jocelyn-Jolene Viceroy as her executive officer on the mission. This is clearly a Viceroy show.
Vincent looked at Nicole. He had not had a command since he commanded the original Governor's Station orbiting Izar in the Alpha Quadrant. He smiled, "Crewman Coren, you can take us out."
"This is General John Smith of the Jarada, you are cleared to leave Jersey Station.", the Jarada general smiled.
Indigo looked at Vincent, "We are clearing the station. Preparing to head into low orbit."
Vincent nodded, "Watch for the station, Crewman."
Indigo chuckled but had to vere a bit. No simulator will ever compare to the real thing.
Vermont tapped his combadge, "Sanders, we are cleared to head to Journet."
"Aye, Commander.", Vanessa smiled, falling into formation.
Within the hour, Jo-Jo looked back, "Nessa, we have reached the rendezvous point."
The fiery red head stood up and smiled, "This is one for the PF."
"This is Captain Alexander Paige of the USS Washington. We have establish a transporter link. We will re-staff the USS Flagstaff on your mark.", Paige muttered.
"This is Commodore Vincent Viceroy. We will transport on my order.", Vincent smiled.
The Tongue entered high orbit under the command of Geyn Cheko. The Gecko brought the luxury space yacht into a position to allow Christine T'Nley to broadcast the historic event.
Viceroy looked at Monty and spoke, "Mark."
Vanessa looked at Jo-Jo, "Engage."
"Lt. Todd, can you confirm the retrieval?", Vanessa spoke to her engineer.
"Harper here. We have the senior staff.", Harper Todd responded.
Vanessa looked at Jo-Jo, "Take us home. Take us home."
Christine looked out at the viewer as the USS Flagstaff went through its security check.
She looked at the camera, "Today, the Phoenix Federation comes of age. It has bested its much bigger neighbour and furthermore has watched as it leaves the region with its tail between its legs."
