Tondora Ilari was a nothing member of the Babylon Beta Project. Ilari represented the Centauri Republic with grace and dignity but his people had long since passed their moment of influence. The Centauri were little more than clinging to their status as a member nation in the Earth Alliance. Ilari looked out at vast expanse of the Beta Quadrant and at the amazing USS Quasar Quest outside the Station orbit.
"Vir, there is the future of the Centauri people. There in that mighty sailing ship, the Centauri could have a war ship worthy of battling the Vorlon and the Shadows. There is but two options. While the Captain attempts to dupe these poor saps in this so-called Phoenix Federation, I should either stow away on that vessel long enough to garner a full and detailed plan or once Edison has figured out how to get us back to the proper orbit, I shall steal that mighty warship and once again the Centauri will have a ship or better yet, a fleet of ships worthy of our great people.", Ilari boasted to his aide.
"You can't hardly plan your supper let alone plan such a daring operation.", The Narn Military Representative to Babylon Beta looked at Ilari. Commander Z'Kel chuckled as he walked past the dreaming Ilari.
"Have you heard, Tondora? Captain Edison has permitted the Security from the weird floating city to visit our station and take telemetry readings. I am told their security officer looks like a Vorlon. He is something other. He is called a Breen. His suit serves as refrigeration unlike the Vorlon.", Z'Kel explained.
"On our station; how could he? We don't even know these people.", Ilari shouted.
"We have been invited to Gala on the planet by someone know as Felicity Powers. She is an Antican. They look like domesticated dogs. An odd people but she seems nice.", The Narn representative looked at the Centauri.
"I shall decline attendance. It is the perfect opportunity to see the inside of the mighty vessel known as the Quasar Quest.", Ilari explained.
"One day, my dear Z'Kel, that very ship will bring about the resurrection of the Centauri Republic. We will once again be mighty and without equal.", Ilari mythically predicted.
"Perhaps this time around, you will have the dignity of a great power.", Z'Kel hit home knowing that the Centauri had behaved like the Cardassians towards the Bajorans with the horrors committed on the Narn homeworld. Z'Kel knew that Ilari would understand and even feel embarrassed at the remembrance.
"All in good time, my dear Z'Kel. First the ship, then the creation of a Fleet of them and then the restoration of the Centauri Republic.", Ilari grinned.
