"How are things progressing?", Vincent looked at Elora as Nicole walked in hoping to give the Vice President some clues as to the status.
"We are holding the line. We are not able to eliminate them totally or to push them back. I am pleased to announce the support of the Tamarians. Terralon Lok has provided more than 200 Tamarian Soldiers.", Elora explained.
"We need to push them back and we need to 100% clear the battlefield. There can be no feeding or breeding grounds for the Magog.", Vincent ordered.
Nicole was in sheer shock at the site of the Dragons and the Dogs on the war front. She was terrified. With the Magog ability to mutate and reproduce, they may only be able to hold the line.
"What can we do?", Nicole frowned.
"What about option 'B'?", Dr. Magenta Coren-Branson walked into the war room.
Vincent turned suddenly, putting his finger up to his lips. Magenta had not even seen Nicole in the room.
Nicole saw the hand gesture, "What the hell is option 'B'?"
Vincent glared at Magenta pissed off over the release. Vincent looked at Nicole, "We have been working with the Romulan Virus to create a Magog Anti-gen."
"What?", Nicole squealed.
"Magenta!", Nicole yelled, "I went to jail. I violated every biological weapons law to protect my colony and I made promises to the Federation and to the civilian population. I would never do this again."
"Why the hell would you keep up this research?", Nicole screamed.
"Nicole, the Romulans don't attack the colony because they know what it means. The Romulans could be exposed to the virus once more.", Magenta snapped.
"The military keeps secrets from the civilian government.", Nicole glared at Vincent.
"The civilian government is by its very nature open to public scrutiny. I could not let you be open to criticism or to break your promise to not knowingly be involved with such viral weaponry research.", Vincent tried to explain it. Nicole could be so naive.
"I can't believe you were in on this.", Nicole stomped by Magenta.
Magenta grabbed her arms, "I would do anything to protect you."
"Even lie to me. You have betrayed my trust.", Nicole shouted.
Magenta looked at Vincent, "Shall I continue with my research?"
"Yes.", Vincent looked at Magenta.
"Should we inform President Hunt?", Magenta asked.
"He, like Branson, need to maintain transparency. He should be kept out of the loop. We are pledged to serve the government to the best of our abilities. If this goes south, we should be prepared to go down without implicating the civilian government.", Viceroy explained.
"It is done. Once we have a viable strain, I will inform you Commodore.", Magenta responded.
"What about Nicole? Can you keep her quiet?", Vincent snarled.
"It will be done. Nicole knows that if she speaks out, the Federation would request that she be tried for the original Romulan biological war crime again. She won't speak out.", Magenta frowned.
