William Hunt was supposed to speak to the conference today to discuss the history and origins of the Amanda Corridor but Hunt was a no show. He had other priorities. He sent an aide to announce that he and Erica Lavigne, his new bride had accepted the opportunity to cruise from New Terra to Paris. They deserved it. Hunt had worked so hard to establish a new way of thinking and a new way of believing in our future; a phoenix future.
Nicole looked at the aide and asked him what we are gonna do about it? The aide laughed, "I guess you are speaking."
Christine started to laugh, "That'll be rich."
Nicole looked at the aide and then turned to Auburn, "I guess here goes."
Christine chuckled, "Madame Chancellor?"
Nicole laughed, "In honor of our President, I would like to welcome everyone to the Phoenix Colony, to Omega Prime and to the Amanda Corridor in the name of peace."
Christine was actually impressed as Nicole detailed the legend of the Phoenix Liberation War, of the New Terra - Klingon war, of the rise of President Hunt and the cursed death of his beloved Amanda. Nicole also talked about Rear Admiral Jake Anderson, about Admiral Tim Veltkamp and about the Omega Fleet, the Phoenix Fleet and the honor of 5 years of life on the colony.
Nicole looked around as Auburn smiled in support. Christine looked at Nicole and stormed off, upset that she did not have an opportunity to once again roast Nicole.
