Elizabeth Coren could not believe the request. Admiral Hunt knew about her dislike for the Colony and its leadership. He contacted Admiral Illyan Coren, Eugenio's brother and head of the Betazoid Defence League. He and Illyan had become close as Illyan explained the principle of the Alpha Quadrant wormhole and its discovery.
Hunt asked Illyan to first ask and then order Elizabeth and Eugenio to host a gala event to celebrate the opening of Second Corinthians and the renewed relationship between Star Fleet and the Phoenix Fleet. Hunt knew what it would do to Elizabeth but he was growing tired of her attitude towards Nicole, the colony and its ventures.
Elizabeth bucked the suggestion but Hunt and Illyan would have none of it. Elizabeth finally contacted Felicity Powers on the surface and had the host look after the arrangements.
Lavender looked at Nicole, "Are we going?"
"We have to. It is an official function.", Nicole looked at Lassie.
"I wish there was some way to wow my mother and force her to swallow her pride when we come in.", Lassie looked at Nicole.
Nicole chuckled. She thought of Orchid and Magenta. The girls were always trying to one up their mother. She had not seen that in Lavender before.
"I think I have just the idea.", Nicole looked at Lassie.
"What?", Lassie looked puzzled.
"Commander T'tan has some amazing outfits.", Nicole looked at Lassie thinking of the Judge Advocate General and their brief relationship after T'tan and Tokken split.
"I am not sure I like the idea of dressing in something you used to lust for.", Lassie frowned.
"I lust only for you now, Lassie.", Nicole wooed her lover.
"I hope so.", Lassie glared at Nicole.
"Are you sure you want to go through with this?", Nicole looked at Lassie as she came out very skimply dressed.
"Oh hell ya!", Lassie grinned ear to ear.
Nicole dressed in a more traditional dress befitting her role as Governor.
Nicole and Lassie flew to Second Corinthians on a shuttle that Lavender herself piloted. Nicole looked at Lassie, "We can still replicate something else if you think this will be too much."
"I think my mother needs to know about us, about our relationship and about what the future holds.", Lassie grinned.
Nicole took her hand as they neared the large conference room. Lassie looked at her, "What are you thinking?"
"I am just so proud to have the most beautiful person on the colony entering with me. It is a feeling I have not had since Magenta was taken from me.", Nicole lifted Lavender's hand and kissed the back.
"What are you thinking?", Nicole bobbed her head and rested it on Lassie's shoulder.
"I am thinking my mom is gonna sh** when she sees me walk in with you.", Lassie giggled.
All eyes were on the Governor and First Lady... They were clearly on display now.
