My Mother's Keeper Empty
PostSubject: My Mother's Keeper   My Mother's Keeper EmptyWed May 25, 2011 7:27 pm

Lavender watched in tears as her mother broadcast on all channels that she would take Eugenio back. If Eugenio would come back to Second Corinthians', she would honor her vows and take him back.

Lavender had spent the morning watching the devastating fighting at Starbase 234. Young officers were being killed. It had to be stopped. Lavender thought about her own sacrifices. She thought the first time she came to the colony to help her mother try to bring down Nicole Branson after the death of Magenta Coren.

Lavender sobbed and blew her nose as she watched her mother's near breakdown in the hopes of ending the in-fighting at the Omega Fleet station. She sobbed as Eugenio announced his surrender to Gul Vash Enranet and prepared to return to Second Corinthians.

As the Tanmesad docked with Starbase 234, it became apparent that the Dragons had retaken the Station. Lavender was still crying when Nicole returned from the Omega Complex. Nicole sat down beside her and put her head on her shoulder, "Your mother did the right thing."

Nicole thought about her term as Vice President of the Phoenix Federation and having sex with a male to protect the colony. The so-called "Whoring" incident cost her her job as Vice President but she did not care. Her colony was protected.

Elizabeth was just doing the right thing. She was protecting the young officers of Starbase 234. She was protecting the region. Only through a united front can the Retarnee be driven back. These words offered little comfort to Lavender who had finally seen her mother happy.

When Elizabeth arrived at the house in Little Lakaria in the blue sun dress, she never looked happier. Her pent up rage over the deaths of her children, her deep hatred for Nicole Branson and the Phoenix Colony were all masks for her inability to deal with who she was. Now that had been taken from her by duty.

Duty is an awful thing... An honorable thing but an awful thing.
