"Ace, I'm pregnant.", D'Tall walked into his mining office in New Cyndrial.
"What? It was a one night stand.", Acrylos bluntly responded.
"It does not have to be.", D'Tall started to tear up.
"If I had a child, I would want it to be raised on Bajor.", Acrylos snapped.
"If I had a child, I would want it to be raised with its father.", D'Tall looked at Acrylos.
"Wait! What did you say?", Acrylos interrupted.
"If I had a child...", D'Tall began to respond, half sobbing.
"No, the other part.", Acrylos looked at D'Tall.
"It does not have to be??", D'Tall looked puzzled.
"For real?', Acrylos looked at D'Tall.
"It was the most wonderful experience of my life. You may not be glad but I am overjoyed that the experience produced a child to mark the amazing event.", D'Tall looked longingly at Acrylos.
Acrylos dropped his PADD, knelt down to one knee in a very human custom, he looked at the Marine Colonel, "D'Tall of Orion, would you consent to be my life partner, to share a life before the Prophets and to raise a child together on Bajora?"
D'Tall started to cry. She could not believe this was happening for her.
"Acrylos Teero of Bajor, I consent to be your life partner, to share a life before the Prophets and to raise our child in their honor.", D'Tall looked at Acrylos and then knelt down putting her forehead against his.
"I love you, Ace.", D'Tall knew she barely knew the engineer in a loving way but she had seen all he had done for so many people over the years.
"I love you too, D'Tall.", Acrylos hugged her and then kissed her deeply on the mouth.
