Firstly, congratulation to Roman Student Dheal Neral of Romulus, studying to be an Omega Scientist at Vorta'Rome who wins the first academic medal of the Universiade shocking the heavily favored S'Nii of Vulcan, serving the Omega Academy at Venice.
The incident led to vicious shouting in the crowd between T'tan of Vulcan, T'Ros of Vorta'Rome and Vice Admiral Nicole Branson after T'tan claimed S'Nii should be competing for the Vulcan Academy and not the human Omega Academy. T'tan and Branson were shouting when Neral stole the entire event leading to bragging by T'Ros.
A formal announcement had already been made that the marathon will end in Rome as the original Olympic games had intended. The bitter shouting between these three women led to a challenge. Each of the three powerful women will enter the marathon with bragging rights for their city on the line. Before the announcement was even complete, Dr. Ro Anora announced that she too would be entering this leaders marathon.
Moments after the Boston Mayor joined the chaos, a formal announcement from Dr. Rochester Powers reveals that the leggy Felicity Powers will join the leaders marathon.
The Universiade was supposed to be a celebration of the peaceful return to normalcy of the Phoenix Colony. Now, it is once again filled with the tension that has marked the colony's very existence. The five most powerful females on the planet are now engaged in a bitter race, a microcasm of the once horrifying Romulan occupation.
Handicapping has already began as bar owners around the colony begin to take stock of who has the best chance of winning the marathon...
