"The price is too high, Admiral.", Hatherton looked at Gral.
"We will get a resort on Medara which will be controlled by Independence. This will allow the Federation to monitor the King's Fleet from the surface. We will get full access to the surface for the Miranda. This is an important victory.",Leopoldo explained.
The Tellarite looked at the human who had a deep hatred of Branson and her colleagues. His daughter Henrietta had been killed working with them.
"If the King's Fleet gets to monitor the Lancelot Line between the colony of Darona and the Homeworld of Betazed, we don't have any escalation with Laree and Coren destroying the rebel republic. This small fleet lacks the capability to attempt a genocidal attack. This is a win.", Gral looked at Hatherton.
"But Branson gets Libby released from her Federation citizenship to return to the surface. She will be with that Branson!", Hatherton growled.
"I have secured peace in the Betazoid Sector. I will have to adjust.", Gral was not pleased with the concession but he understood the job.
Hatherton was already scheming about how to make Branson pay.
Nicole flew with Viceroy to Independence Point to look at the resort constructed by Colonel Teero for Rhythm Dennyson and the Independence. Nicole felt very uncomfortable around the Aqurian in a human body. The whole base had that cover up feel to it. It was allegedly a rest spot like Riisa. It had the wonderful baths and cool look but it just felt odd.
Nicole walked down to the ocean and looked out. She longed to go for a swim. She had been on Medara for several months and had never seen the ocean. She was standing there Asher Libby came walking up. Libby did not speak. She just stood there. She had hurt Nicole by leaving.
Slowly, Nicole wiggled her hand over and cupped the butt cheek. Libby was very happy to feel that warm hand once more. She slowly copied the movement. The pair just stood there silent. It had been a long road back.
