Bell had embraced his youth. His Antican appearance had been altered to be more Husky or Wolf like to match the appearance of many of his men. Belvedere had always been a bulldog. He had embraced the larger jowls of the bulldog peoples in the Antican culture. It made him appear tougher but it had a price. He had more saliva. When he barked orders he spit.
He loved the bulldog tenacity and embraced it in the war with the Borg, in the liberation of the Phoenix Colony and in countless other battles. It better fit his spirit than the wolf.
Christine had first met him as the Bulldog but in recent history she had loved the wolf in him. She had agreed to give him a child in his wolf appearance. Bell still wanted a family. He thought he still wanted a family with Christine. He however wanted it as himself, as a bulldog.
Bell went to Christine's quarters on the station. He stopped an ac door and activated the chime. Christine walked over. She opened the door and with some surprise exclaimed, "Bell?"
"Why would you knock?", Christine barely noticed the change in appearance.
"I thought I should knock. I thought my choice to return to the bulldog look might change things between us.", Bell looked at his hybrid lover.
"Oh Bell, I am not in love with your appearance. If that were the case, I would be with a Betazoid male. They are way cuter.", Christine tried to tickle the General.
Bell stepped back. He looked at Christine, "Really?"
Christine dropped her robe, "Really."
Bell picked her up. She looked at her Antican lover, "I am in love with heart not your appearance."
