Christine has been so focused on her relationship with Bell. She has been turning over some of the duties to the Observatory Staff so she can continue to focus on a child for their relationship.
Brittany had been on the station serving in the Co-op program for students. Christine had mellowed a bit in her pursuit of a political image because with Whisper as Governor, it was not nearly as much fun as with Nicole as Governor. The Betazoid Alliance frowned on criticism and Christine did not like the scrutiny.
Brittany had been given the responsibility of doing some political commentary as part of her Co-op assignment. Bell was very supportive. He thought Christine would take care of his adoptive child.
Brittany went live on the OWN Nightly Broadcast with an image of her own.
Brittany lit up the Governor with a scathing political commentary about loyalty to the Betazoid Alliance, the Tellarite Federation and Starfleet. Her commentary was outstanding. She had learned well from Christine but now Brittany Brown, the very young lady who was supposed to show Christine that Bell could raise a child had just challenged his beloved.
