Commissioned by Vice Admiral Nicole Branson to meet the new crop of students at Omega Prime, I met the Bajorans, many of whom had been rejected by Star Fleet Academy for lack of student housing and accomodation in San Francisco. Many of whom were worried that their course material would not be transferable and many of whom who thought this was the end and not the beginning.
After a half an hour reunification speech, I am pleased to see them smiling and looking at the student apartments. I have since learned that the Bajoran Republic has agreed to send representatives to Sparta to meet with Hunt in the on-going alliance against President Johnson and his brash actions against a high ranking Star Fleet officer.
Rumors of Johnson more militant stance against other races in the universe have begun to spread throughout the colonies. President Johnson has thus far denied any such approach but his actions, in particular against Admiral Hunt but also against high ranking officers who support other race interactions have been now documented by more than one source.
I took the Bajoran students into the city and then out to the Jake Anderson Parkway. The students were overwhelmed by the city, what it had to offer and moreso the unity it represents. Laaker's wife, Hyla then took the students to the Arboritium and then to the Tree House for lunch.
The next event is something that will mark this day for ever. The Bajorans went into the courtyard and what began as a simple sculpture to capture their arrival has become the very symbol of the Phoenix Fleet, the Phoenix Colony and every goal ever set out by the Federation itself.
The image of Cardassians, Bajorans, Vulcan, Romulans, Betazoids, and humans holding the splitting colony together was built by the students in what has become known as the Phoenix Unification...
The sculpture, built in relative haste has become an attraction almost immediately after it was built.
All we are trying to do here on the Phoenix Colony, here in the Phoenix Fleet, here in the Federation is to try to hold it together.
