I Couldn't Save Her Empty
PostSubject: I Couldn't Save Her   I Couldn't Save Her EmptyMon Nov 10, 2014 6:53 pm

Robert sat at the table in the sheriff's office in Camelot and cupped his face in his hands. He just sobbed. Brenna was a special little girl and now she was gone. Robert was the police chief. He had protected her on the Omega Colony, the Phoenix Colony, in Ephyra, through the horrors of Cheron and Medara but here in the cold shadow of the Klingon Empire, she had lost the war with nature.

It was his fault, or at least he thought it was. He took it very personally. Sara came to see him at the office. He looked up and seeing her only made him cry more. He had betrayed her with Catherine Powers. She and he had not spoken since. He had been a symbol of order out of chaos in these worlds. Now he was little more than a minor character in the ongoing soap opera that had become their existence.

Robert brushed by Sara and just took off into town. He was likely headed to the Ishka's for a drink. Camelot was a bizarre place. In the distance was the mighty remnants of the Snow Dilithium mines, an ultramodern 24 century facility but in town it was the original wooden structures that were built when they first got there. It looked more like a wild west town in many ways than an ultramodern colony outpost in a buffer state.

Robert was going to go get drunk when Sara swept in and took him out of the city. She literally lifted him with her wings and set up in down in the fringes of the city.

Robert turned to see Sara. She opened her wings to expose her incredible beauty.

Sara shook Robert, "I have the wings of an angel and I could not save her."

Robert looked at her and slumped to the ground, "She did not deserve that."

Sara sat down beside the good chief of police, "No one deserves that."
