6 years ago today, on December 29, 2008, the colony forum was started because the database structure for the SMS system was very unreliable and we were all afraid of losing the tremendous history that is life on the colonies. The forum has been maintained by the fictionkings writers guild but mostly by me, Admiral Vincent Viceroy and I am 100% okay with that.
We have seen the system fail twice. Once as a member of the Phoenix Fleet which lead to the creation of the colony of Ephrya, the third colony in the history of the Star Trek Soap Opera but at least the colony was kept alive by the forum while the site was being rebuilt and then when the fictionkings websites lost their funding leaving the colony at Cheron near the Romulan Star Empire as the soul survivor.
In the 2191 day history of the colonies, there have been 3794 individual posts or 1.73 posts per day. 6 of the top 10 posts have seen more than 1000 views a piece and the colony has seen over 70000 topic views. This has been done with the mission posts being closed to the public view.
This is so amazing, I cannot describe being able to keep this going for so long. Wonderful job, everyone.
