Yasushi beamed back aboard the Achillies and Hour and 20 minutes after he had left. As he rematerialized Meadow was standing in the Transporter room with a smile on her face. Yasushi walked off the transporter pad and Meadow came up and hugged him
“Thank you.” She said “I'm glad that you convinced Will to come down and see me. I just need someone to be there sometimes...” Then tears started running down her face.
“Don't worry I understand.” Yasushi said and rubbed her back. She took a step back and said “I guess when you walked into my sickbay a few weeks ago and said 'notice anything different' I hadn't noticed everything at that time. I had grown two years, but in more way then one”
She sniffled and said “I'm glad to have you here.”
Yasushi smiled and said “More than happy to be here” then smiled and walked for the door.
Yasushi put his arm around Meadow and walked towards the Achillies turbolift with her, silently. They got in and Yasushi said “XOs Quarters.”
The lift began moving, it was a silent trip.
In the conference lounge Captain Ishikawa and Mr. James Solomon had already arrived and they were discussing the situation on the colony.
“Once the colony is liberated it will serve as an example to the rest of the Federation and hurt the Vulcan's morale.” Said James Solomon then leaning back in his chair.
“The other thing that I find important to not is that not all Vulcans are rebelling...there are a lot of the follower, but not every single Vulcan everywhere is hostile. I came across a Vulcan Science ship on my way here that was just as confused about all this as we are...So I think it's really important to find out what is causing this behavior.”
Hunt nodded and said “I agree. When we beam up the leadership of the colony we'll have to capture one or two of the Vulcans so that we can run some medical exams on them.” Captain Ishikawa nodded in agreement.
Yasushi walks in and walks to the replicator “Greeting to you all. How are you all doing.” he presses a few controls on the front and a white teapot and 4 cups appeared in the replicator.
He brought them over to the table and dumped some of his tea in the pot.
“Well it's nice to meet you in person.” Mr. Solomon said and got up.
Yasushi went back to the replicator and taped some more controls and a large platter of sushi was replicated. He brought it over and set it in front of everyone then went back over to the other end of the table by the replicator and got the tea. He put a cup in front of everyone and poured tea in each cup.
Mr. Solomon took a sip and said “Ah! It's been a while since I had real green tea. How did you get some?”
Yasushi laughed and said “I have a case of it in my quarters. I get the tea from my home town.”
Mr. Solomon smiled and took another sip.
Yasushi sat down and asked “So how far along in the briefing did you get?”
Hunt sat up and said “well we all more or less agreed that we have to capture a Vulcan to to exams on. Try and find out if there is some kind of medical explanation for this. Other than that I told them about your plan to take the Achillies in under cloak and beam up the leadership. They thought it brilliant.”
Yasushi smiled and said “Well if you thought that was good, I've got something better.”
Yasushi stood up and walked to the viewscreen and put an isoliniar chip in the slot. A map of the capital city came up on the screen. “Okay my crew have come up with a pretty good idea. Instead of using the Achillies we use the Horton. Since the Horton is capable of atmospheric flight it makes it perfect for this mission. We move the cloak over to the Horton along with 16 marines, and we take the shuttles out of the Horton's shuttle bay and replace them with a squadron of 4 fighters. Now for the actual plan.”
Yasushi tapped the controls next to the screen and the mapped zoomed out to show the planet and their current position. “It'll take us about 15 minutes at all of our ships maximum warp to reach to colony. The horton will cloak about 5 lightyears out as to not be detected. Long range sensors have detected only 4 Vulcan controlled ships in orbit. A Sovereign class, 2 Vulcan ships, and a Nebula Class. If the Red Star and the Delta Orion tractor the Sovereign class, the Achillies should be able to take it out with two of her transphasic torpedoes. While you guys are fighting the battle up here I will take the Horton down into the atmosphere. And take out the defensive weapon towers of the capital city. After that I'll beam up the leadership of the colonists by locking on to their sub-dermal Phoenix Federation commbadges. After they are on board we'll recloak the ship, and set down outside the city, give the leadership any medical attention they require, and formulate a plan as to how to get back into the city. Once the rebellion is underway here we can start making our way to Earth to capture to kill V'Ros.”
Yasushi went and sat back down at the table, ate some sushi, and sipped on his tea
“Well that is a very thought out plan.” Said Mr. Solomon
“Oh! I almost forgot. I'll need Dr. Coren along on the Horton, we don't have any medical personnel on board, and I or any of my crew probably couldn't preform a proper medical examination.”
Hunt shifted his weight in his chair.
Mr. Solomon said “Well I think that it would be a better idea to use a smaller ship, less likely to be detected, and being able to land on the surface is a very good advantage because you then have a command post and sensors to help out.”
Captain Ishikawa added “Well I don't have a problem with it...I haven't had much experience with ground combat, but it does seem like a good idea to have a ship on the surface.”
Yasushi nodded and said “Well then Admiral it's up to you.”
Admiral Hunt nodded and said “Fine, I will leave the ground mission up to you. Taking Meadow with you shouldn't be a problem. I assume that you can take care of the preparations that you mentioned...If there isn't anything else gentlemen.”
Hunt got up and walked out of the conference room. Mr. Solomon sipped some more of his tea and ate a few pieces of the sushi.
“You seemed to have bruised him a bit, but I wouldn't worry too much. You just stole a bit of his thunder. I do however think that you are the perfect person for this job.” Mr. Solomon got up and walked towards the door he stopped before it opened and said “Good luck captain.” He walked out
“It's good to know that you have a sharp mind captain.” said Captain Ishikawa in Japanese
“You are a very good tactician, and it's also very apparent that you have a special connection with your crew. It's refreshing to see that some captains are shedding away the old ways and becoming a bit more personal. I command a smaller ship as well, so you and I have some similarities.” Captain Ishikawa got up and finished his tea.
“Captain it's been quite a while since I've had some real tea, I was wondering if you'd be interested in trading some of your tea.” Yasushi got a smile on his face and replied in Japanese
“What did you have in mind as a trade?” “I have a three Romulan novels from about 450 years ago, along with a few daggers from the same era, and a Romulan martial arts training manual. To actually have some decent tea I would gladly give them up for say 50 packets?”
Yasushi smiled and said “I'll give you 100 for such a trade!” They both bowed and walked out of the room.
They walked to the turbolift and Yasushi said “XOs Quarters” the lift moved quickly to deck 2 and they both got out and quickly walked down the corridor. They entered Yasushi's quarters and Captain Ishikawa was amazed.
“How did you get your quarters set up like this!?” He said “It was actually something that Admiral Hunt setup before I got on board.” Yasushi said as he walked into the bedroom. He opened his case of tea and pulled out a small gray case. He came back out and handed it to Captain Ishikawa
“Thank you captain. I'll transport my end of the bargain to your quarters here when I get back aboard.”
Yasushi smiled and said “No problem. Good doing business with you, but now we both must attend to our duties. Until we meet again Captain” They both walked out of Yasushi's quarters and went their separate ways.
Yasushi tapped his combadge and called to engineering “Captain Yasushi to engineering, disconnect the cloaking device and have it beamed over to the engine room on the USS Horton.”
the engineer responded “Lieutenant Murch'u here sir. Understood.”
Yasushi walked intot he turbolift and said “Marine HQ” the lift moved quickly to deck 21 where Yasushi got off and walked into the Marine CO's office and said “First Lieutenant Greham.”
She quickly stood up and saluted the Captain “At ease. I need you to select 8 of your best people, including yourself. We need a covert strike team to go into the capital city with the leadership and attack key positions and weaken the enemy. You will have air support, so bear that in mind. I want your platoon prepped and on board the USS Horton in 10 minutes. Be sure to bring along all the equipment you may need.”
Lieutenant Greham nodded and said “Yes sir!”
Yasushi smiled and walked out of her office.
He walked back to the turbolift and got in. “Deck 13” and the lift started moving. When it arrived on deck 13 he got out and walked up with the Fighter Wing CO's office and said “Lieutenant Maxwell, I need you to prep your fighter squadron and have them be on board the USS Horton in ten minutes. The shuttle bay will be cleared before you arrive, so there shouldn't be any problems. Your squadron is going to be giving close air support to the Marines and colony going back in the capital city on the Phoenix Colony.”
Lieutenant Maxwell got up and said “Understood sir. We will disembark immediately.”
Yasushi nodded and walked out of the Lieutenant's office. He walked back down the corridor and into the turbolift “Deck 7, Scikbay”
Yasushi walked into sickbay and notice Meadow sitting at her desk look at a PADD.
Yasushi walked over and sat down in front of her desk “What'cha looking at?” he said and smiled.
She flipped the padd around and said “A picture of my sister.”
Yasushi stood up and motioned for her to do the same.
She complied and said “What's going on?”
Yasushi smiled and said “You're coming with me on the Horton. We don't have any medical personnel, and we are going to need someone to do a proper medical exam on a Vulcan that we beam up to see if there is any medical explanation for the behavior that they are exhibiting. This also gives you the chance to see your sister much sooner than expected.”
Meadow's face lit up and she ran over and hugged Yasushi “Thank you for choosing me for this. You have no idea what it means to me.”
Yasushi patted her on the back and said “I don't know anyone that I would rather have.”
