A letter requesting an investigation from a marine officer in a regional fleet authority that had been questioned for its loyalties in the past was not enough for Admiral London Todd to bring down the Lanec Trmel Andorian movement. Lanec was too entrenched and one more rumour was not going to hurt that.
What London really needed was a smoking gun. He reached out to Monica Montgomery to use her influences in the region to try to come up with a smoking gun.
Monica sent some feelers out. Michaela Hatherton responded, "If you give me a promotion in rank and the senior tactical position, I will provide details of the Hatherton Fleet knowledge of what happened here."
"But that is my role.", Monica retorted.
"Those are my conditions.", Michaela's Hatherton heritage was showing through. She, like Admiral James Hatherton could be so manipulating.
Monica went to London with the conditions. Lonnie looked at Monica, "Let's bring him down!"
"But what will happen to me?", Monica looked at Admiral Todd.
"Admiral Montgomery, that is exactly what has happened to Starfleet and even to the Federation. We have become little more than a front for Section 31. We are the physical face of the status quo. We used to stand for something and we damn well should again.", London snapped.
"Please, Lonnie. There is no room for idealist in the military intelligentsia.", a cocky Lanec Trmel walked through the conference room. He was so certain he was untouchable.
London looked at Monica, "Make this happen!"
On August 14, 2395, Rear Admiral Michaela Hatherton provided finite details about the actions of Admiral Lanec Trmel and the Andorian Armada in the destruction of the Andorian Gateway, the plot to take command of Starfleet and the ploy to dismantle the regional fleet system. Michaela sang like a canary explaining the Hatherton Fleet attacks on the King's Fleet and her internal knowledge of other Andorian activities including Starfleet knowledge of the attack on the Klingon Empire.
People lost their commissions. Several were imprisoned. Michaela Hatherton was hailed as a hero even though she had been in command of the Hatherton Fleet during this period and named Senior Tactical Advisor to Starfleet. Admiral London Todd did his family name a great service in being named Starfleet Commander in Chief.
Lonnie cleaned house assigning subversive members of the Starfleet Command to regional fleet authorities. Monica was devastated to learn that she had banished back to the King's to help repatriate the influential fleet. She screamed at Lonnie, "I f**king helped you!"
Lonnie smiled, "And you will again."
Monica was furious.
