As 2015 comes to a close or for the colonists who inhabit the territories protected by the King's Fleet and the men and women who serve in the King's Fleet, 2395, it is that time again.
In 2015, the King's Fleet is pleased to induct the Commodore of Starfleetuk into the King's Fleet Hall of Fame. The web service provided by starfleetuk.org has played an integral part in the history of the King's Fleet provided hosting for the first SMS based simm, the USS / CGV Tanmesad then serving in the Omega Fleet but including the 5 writers who have formed the basis of the King's Fleet since its beginning in 2004. In 2015, the Commodore hosted the colony at camelot.starfleetuk.org and then rescued the colony after an update affected the website earlier this year. For his efforts, we are eternally grateful.
The Commodore joins Admiral Tim Veltkamp - Founder of the Omega Fleet who got us all back into simming in 2007 and helped form the basis for the reformation of the King's Fleet in 2008, President William Hunt, Founder of the Phoenix Federation who hosted the Phoenix Colony, the first colony protected by the King's Fleet, Admiral Vincent Viceroy - our founder and the conscience of the King's Fleet, Governor Nicole Branson - the emotional leader of the King's Fleet, Christine T'Nley, played so well by Leanne N. who had the unfortunate task of playing the "heavy" for so long and did so with the style and grace of her Vulcan-Romulan hybrid character and the most recent inductee in 2013, Commander T'Zohl of Vulcan, the voice of the King's Fleet vessels and the undisputed queen of NPC writing.
The 2395 vessel of the year is the USS / CGV Tanmesad which hosted the most incredible subplot of the year, the love story between Ambassador Thua'ra Varno and the Bajoran Engineer Ro Marino written so aptly by Christine T'Nley. The story began the rescue of Marino by Thua'ra after the Bajoran was attacked by Marcus Montgomery and the resultant love story became an important part of the goal of creating an inclusive LGBTQ environment.
The 2395 player of the year is Leanne N. who is most famous for her main character Christine T'Nley, the current mayor of Rhodes of Romulus on the colony. She is awarded the player of the year for her work with the NPCs. Ironically, Leanne was struggling with writer's block when Zoey told her to write some NPC stories to help clear her head. The result is the story of the year in 2395, as listed above the romance between Thua'ra Varno and Ro Marino. Fabulous job and well deserved.
Congratulations to the winners and all the very best in 2396 or 2016 as it were.
