"Get outta my fu**ing chair!", Christine burst into the offices of the Camelot Broadcasting System aboard the Reykja wej'veQ screaming at Lucinda Pan'Taar.
"This is my office!", Luci stood up.
"Not any more, hog!", Christine shouted.
"Part of your fu**ing job was to know what is going on! You are the checks and balances for these losers who are hell bent to get us all killed by living out here in the freakin' sticks! It was your job to know the Rhilan Kevoth was lying to the Federation, to Section 31 and to Empress Nicole Branson. Your job was to know that the weapon was armed and still going to be used.", Christine lectured, "You are the people's intelligence division."
"I am no intelligence officer.", Luci snapped,
"Well you got that right!", Christine shouted turning all the computers back on.
"We got a renegade Ferengi Station moved into the cha'paj orbit. Do you know what the hell they are up to?", Christine asked.
"No.", Lucinda fumbled for an answer.
"Get outta my office!", Christine frowned.
There is a very famous story early in the history of the colonies where Christine T'Nley was slugged by Nicole Branson for revelations about the incompetence of the Governor. The truth is that punch was probably deserved. Christine was young and her visceral attacks were often designed to create rage and rebellion and not always well founded on the truth and hardened news principles. Christine had matured becoming a teacher and a leader.
Christine was Mayor of the third city of Rhodes when the storms turned her city, a place of Romulan rebellion and learning into a devastated wasteland strewn with the bodies of rebellious Romulans who stood against the tyranny of Praetor D'Vreenak Suran. These people died under Chrustine's watch. She felt a kinship for what Nicole Branson has gone through in the seven colonies that have seen exodus, genocide and abandonment. The pain was real. The memories cannot be forgotten. People died.
Christine was in that office listening to the Romulan account of the incident and listening to the Romulan leadership condemning the loss of life and declaring the Klingon actions as an attack on the Star Empire. The very words resonated with Christine. Why would the Romulans not say, "Good riddance"; these people were rebels.
It started the mind to thinking. Christine soon realized that Section 31 may have used, no DID USE Nicole Branson to allow the ambitious Rhilan Kevoth to take the Chancellor's chair knowing that he would use the Temporal technology developed by Louis neroQ and tested on the colony of Reykja Penthe to create a vast Dilithium array regardless of loss of life. The response indicates that the Romulan Star Empire was informed so no vessels would be in the direct path of the incident and to eliminate known threats to the power base of Praetor Suran in Rhodes. Christine was furious.
Nicole was walking down the corridor of the wej'veQ when Christine stepped out of HER office. Christine looked at Nicole. She does not really know why but she punched Nicole. She SUCKERPUNCHED the newly minted mayor of Veng cha'paj. Nicole folded like a cheap suit. The huffing Romulan-Vulcan hybrid stood over Nicole, "I am back, bitch, and I am gonna be watching!"
