Varno was in the kitchen cleaning up when Marino got home very late, around 9:00 pm. Varno turned around, "Nice of you to show up."
"I am sorry. We had a difficult autopsy. Martin and I worked on it all day trying to see if there was more than a suicide.", Marino explained turning on the bathtub.
As the Bajoran walked out, rubbing the filler out of his nose ridges, Varno bluntly truffled, "And you could not call?"
"We were right in the middle of it; up to our elbows in blood. So no, we could not call.", Marino snapped back, heading back into the bathroom to get into the bath.
"Matio calls and he is fighting fire.", Varno mocked as he stormed down the hallway. He and Lanec had become good friends as the Renaissance house husbands. Varno could not believe he was actually jealous of his Andorian friend and his love affair with the other Bajoran in the building.
Marino towelled off and plunked down on the couch to sleep for the evening. He got up early and headed into the coroner's office. He just could not deal with Cardassian moods right now. Perhaps Martin was right. He could honour Marino but he could not understand the commitment to the job.
Martin was his playful and joyful self. He helped lighten the mood of Dr. Ro. Marino giggled, "Don't touch my scrubs, you will see my panties."
Martin gasped. Marino teased that it was the one thing he could wear that would not expose his cross dressing ways. Martin grinned, "Now those are panties I would love to see."
Marino and Martin finally found their proverbial needle in the haystack proving that the young man was murdered by a very fine needle through the jugular vein. Martin high fives the Doctor, "Yes!"
Blood splattered from his gloves onto the scrubs. Marino teased, "Damn, I have to put on new scrubs."
The Bajoran stepped behind the curtain. Martin grabbed the bloody scrubs. He tossed them in the disposal, "Damn, there are not any others. I will put a call into the orderly."
Martin grabbed his water bottle.
"Can you toss me my water bottle?", Marino asked.
"Get it yourself.", Martin teased.
"I don't have any pants on.", Marino responded.
"I know.", Martin flirted.
Marino thought about it for a moment and then reached down into his duffle bag grabbing the wig from his secret compartment. He thought about Thua'ra. The Cardassian had saved his life. He owed him. The Cardassian also had abandoned him the night before over working late. Marino adjusted the wig and stepped out to grab the water.
Martin looked at the cross dressing Doctor, "Wow!"
Marino sipped the water.
This is about to become a mess.
