Section 31 had gotten out of control. The Andorians have made a play for command of Starfleet. The chaos has left Starfleet Command and the presidency of the Federation in total chaos and disarray with Special Agent Lanec Trmel offering to serve as head of Starfleet Command. The movement to put an Andorian in charge has been going on every since the Andorian Gateway and the Andorian Armada.
Starfleet was in trouble for the first time in a while. Admiral Caitlin Wu knew what had happened. They had been played. Worse yet, she... The manipulative head of Section 31 had been played. She was hurt and embarrassed. She knew exactly what the next step had to be.
Caitlin came to King's County to meet with Vincent. He had always been a beacon for the right. Caitlin told Vincent that if an alternative could not be presented Lanec Trmel was going to take Starfleet from Antoinette and the Federation would be plunged into a militaristic Andorian state. She begged him to step up once more.
Vincent gathered the senior staff of the King's Fleet. He and Caitlin explained the power play. Deveniss looked at Vincent, "But what about the temporal assignment? What about the sheriff's office?"
Vincent looked at his old friend, "You will do fine, Sheriff Selay."
Deveniss looked at Vincent, "I am an old man."
"Not anymore.", Vincent put his hand on the shoulder of his friend.
"Who will handle the Chief of Staff duties?", Deveniss looked at Vincent.
"I will restore the civilian rank of Vice Admiral to Nicole Branson. She will leave the hospital and work at the station. She will handle the crew assignments.", Vincent suggested.
"We have an opportunity to step up and restore order in Paris 2396 while still maintaining our commitments here. This is a critical juncture.", Vincent pleaded.
"We will fulfill our obligation.", Deveniss responded.
Nicole joined the fleet leadership in the room. Deveniss looked at the former Governor, King's County Councillor and Doctor, "Take care of my people."
Vincent also moved to reestablish the Presidency of the Vulcan T'tan. He knew how impartial she could be. She had been so wonderful with the King's County Courts. She would be interim until an election could be called. Vincent needed to have order.
Vincent also returned command of Section 31 to Agent Caitlin Wu. Deveniss and Tan were not pleased. To quote Admiral Viceroy, "Better the devil you know..."
