The Tanmesad is a bit of a legend in the region. The Cardassian Galor Class was a bit of a joke when Gul Vash Enranet and Commander Tania Branson were given the task of creating a joint Federation – Starfleet
Operation. They were a laughing stock in the region but served to help create a resurgent Cardassian Union under Gul Varno.
The ship named for the Cardassian word for Shield has been able to survive the Cardassian civil war, the Dominion War, several interactions in the King’s Fleet, the Phoenix Federation, several King’s Fleet colonies and now the Klingon – Federation tensions.
The Tanmesad on two occasions has engaged the Klingons in the region. Both have not gone well. The large K’T’inga Class vessels are very quick to humble the Galor Class.
The morning of July 14, 2400, Stardate 75320, the Tanmesad was engaged by the Klingons. The poor Galor Class was pummeled greatly.
Dr. Toronto Trmel, the Andorian nicknamed Blue Jay, was in engineering with Commander Ozzie Kirk as the Chief Tactical Officer and Chief Engineer tried to hold the ship together. The Aurelian has been a bit of kook in the King’s Fleet. He cut his wings off to join Starfleet. He has been seen as an outcast. As others were terrified, Ozzie was holding the Tanmesad together.
Explosions, sparks and other calamities were going on all around. Ozzie was keeping the Federation Warp Core running and the ship afloat. The truth is Gul Neron Kira was screaming on the bridge. Major Eetya Numan was yelling at the wayward Cardassian. In this mess, Ozzie was saving the ship!
The Tanmesad slinked back to Covenant Station barely flying. When the ship docked with the fueling station, Ozzie literally sat on the floor of the engineering bay and just breathed. He had saved the ship.
The Tanmesad is certainly a lucky vessel. Gul Neron ordered all the ship’s crew onto the station.
Ozzie was barely walking he was so tired as he walked along the corridor of Covenant Station. Toronto came up beside the Aurelian. She leaned over and kissed the Aurelian on the beak, “The others may not know what you did but I do.”
The Andorian twirled around and looked at Ozzie, “And I am grateful.”
