Elizabeth was already sitting at the RICKS when Magenta got there. Elizabeth stood up and smile. The pair shared a little hug.
"Why are you going to New Terra?", Elizabeth asked.
"Nicole is attending the funeral of Amanda Hunt.", Magenta smiled as she ordered a white wine.
"But why do you have to go?", Elizabeth asked again.
"Because she is my wife.", Magenta looked puzzled at her mother.
"You know I don't like it when you call her that.", Elizabeth responded.
"What should I call her, my mistress? Now wait, there is only one mistress at this table.", Magenta snapped.
"Your father was a crotchety old man. He had given up on being a husband and man, he was content to just fade away. Vincent is definitely not that. He was enough man to keep a much younger woman happy.", Elizabeth tried to explain.
"So he is a better lay than my father.", Magenta snapped. The waitress gave her an odd look as she drank the wine.
"As a matter of fact yes.", Elizabeth was getting more defensive.
"Then that is why I am going to New Terra. Because Nicole is a better lay than any of the options I have here.", Magenta growled.
"You know I don't like it when you talk like that. You too have a daughter to care for.", Elizabeth drank a sip of tea.
"What because Nicole and I f**k, we are not good parents.", Magenta had her back up big time.
"You are screwing someone who just had a f**king kid weeks ago.", Magenta snapped.
"You think we are a bad example...", Magenta scoffed.
"Hey, I just wanted to have coffee with my daughter, the co-mother of my favorite grandchild. I never wanted it to be like this.", Elizabeth tried to calm the situation.
"You started it.", Magenta snapped.
The table got very quiet. Magenta sipped her wine. Elizabeth looked at Magenta, "There are some fine men in Colonel Belvedere's marines."
Magenta stood up, "When are you ever gonna get it? The only fine thing in Bell's Corps is Evangeline and I already have a life partner."
Elizabeth looked up, "I am sorry, Magenta but I just worry about when you are old. When you are aging. What will you romance be like then?"
Magenta looked back, "It is 2389 mother. Not 2010. We will be a tight and taut as we are today on the day we die thanks to cosmetic improvements. I will be in bed with Nicole on my death bed with a smile on face looking as beautiful then as I do now."
Magenta walked away. She stopped by the door of RICKS, "We should do this again sometime."
Her sarcasm was biting and ferocious, "Stop in and see Brenna. She would love to see ya."
That may be the only benign thing spoken during the entire visit. Magenta was on fire as she floored the hover car on route home. She got to their suburban home in Omega Prime. She walked up to the house. Nicole was cooking some supper.
"Is Brenna home yet?", Magenta asked.
"No.", Nicole smiled, looking at Magenta.
"Get upstairs and take your clothes off now!", Magenta ordered.
"Whoa! What brought this on?", Nicole turned around as Magenta grabbed her hips.
"My mother is at it again... I have to vent some steam.", Magenta ordered.
Nicole looked at Magenta as she got off the bed, "Would you check my supper?"
"Sure.", Magenta smiled wiping her face in the sink.
"God, I hope you mother does that more often.", Nicole cooed.
Magenta smiled and headed for the kitchen while Nicole lay there basking in the afterglow.
