A chess opening is the group of initial moves of a chess game. Recognized sequences of opening moves are referred to as openings as initiated by White or defenses, as created in reply by Black. There are many dozens of different openings, and hundreds of named variants.
Summer walked into Governor's Station's observation globe, "Tan, we may have a problem."
"What?", the Hierarchy Clanner turned around.
"Commander Monty Viceroy is reported 3 Romulan Ships entering the Phoenix Colony Border Patrol Region.", Summer explained.
"Outside the Neutral Zone?", Tan asked.
"Yes.", Summer frowned.
"Inform the Klingons immediately. We cannot have them responding with force in our territories. Tell them its a navigation error.", Tan ordered.
"And Summer, inform the surface right away. Ask Captain Warren to move the Quest into the path but do not engage.", Tan's rank was largely ceremonial. The United Federation of Planets was so happy to get the chubby defector and rewarded him with the high rank. This however was a time when he needed to use that rank to make certain that the Romulan situation did not get more serious.
Vincent looked at Elora, "Have Shayna go to Kalama and help them observe this process. We have to be 100% open on this issue. We do not want a superpower squirmish."
"Yes, Commodore.", Elora smiled.
"What are we gonna do?", Elora asked.
"We are gonna inform Captain Vreenak that these vessels are violating our border patrol. We are gonna ask him nicely to have them return to the neutral zone.", Vincent shook his head.
The tension lasted for several hours. Captain Warren contacted the surface, "We are in position, Commodore. Any requests?"
Vincent looked at Elora, "Tell the good Captain to hold his position."
Sub-Commander T'Ken walked into the Federation war room, "Commodore, you requested my presence."
"Young lady, please have your ships return to the neutral zone.", Vincent looked at T'Ken.
"These ships are part of the Eagle's Talon Task Group and are loyal to Commander T'Ros. It would be her who would have to make such a command.", T'Ken responded.
"She is right.", Elora re-entered the room, "Captain Vreenak informs me that the Romulan ships would not withdraw on his authority."
"Dammit, so you are saying that we need to beg the Deputy.", Vincent grumbled.
"Yes.", T'Ken shared his disappointment.
"Elora, have Casper bring the Diana to the Quest. We need to barricade the colony. What the hell is that stupid Romulan up to?", Vincent grumbled.
Everyone wanted to know... What is T'Ros up to?
