S'Lyyna the Vulcan has been out for Christine's job since she arrived on the Colony. She has tried to surplant the Romulan-Vulcan Hybrid on many occasions. She has learned that ONN earns its highest ratings from the so-called celebrity expose. S'Lyyna has learned what Christine has known.
The colony is filled with celebrity mongers who worship these false idols from Nicole Branson, William Hunt and Vincent Viceroy to the civilians like Marcus Dinn. Exposes fill the network with stories about their histories.
When Abbey Warren joined the crew of the Tanmesad, S'Lyyna went to see Carson Warren to get an interview with the new Star Fleet cast off. S'Lyyna had once interviewed Carson Warren. Warren is a bit of a celebrity in the Phoenix Fleet having been a human who served in the Cardassian civil war and who had been a cast off by Star Fleet Academy despite being a bit of a idiot sevant when it comes to warp engines. The so-called Astronaut Farmer has been able to work on some of the most important engines in the Phoenix Fleet. He has been aboard the Quest, the Achilles, the Prometheus. All of the great ships have been tweaked at the hand of the farm boy.
The inhabitants of the colony have a deep passion and support for Carson. Celebrity media has always been about breaking down the one that are idols. S'Lyyna came here to expose Carson Warren.
Life in the deep south, in the farm lands of America is different. Even in the 2370s, there were places on Earth that have not been exposed to the outside world. There are places where no one else goes, where no family have the opportunity to be outside their little world.
S'Lyyna found out that Abbey and Carson were near the river in their tiny community. They had known about the outside world. They knew what opportunities would one day present themselves.
S'Lyyna found out after stealing the personnel logs from former Star Fleet Officer that she had carnal relations with her own brother. S'Lyyna exposed the children of the corn. This is a dark day. Times have changes in 2391. The Phoenix Federation is supposed to be home, to be a haven for these people, for all people.
This type of reporting and this type of politics is something that is not to occur here. We are supposed to be beyond this.
S'Lyyna has done the unthinkable. She has betrayed a secret trust within a family.
