Catherine was overjoyed when Vincent finally approved her transfer to the USS Chicago. Catherine would continue to serve as a physician with the Deanna Troi Center but she would get to spend more time with Tania. Tania would explain the horrible dilemma that her beautiful daughter Nicole found herself and describe the attack by Rosalie Prang'Laar.
Catherine was horrified. She still carried a deep love for Nicole and wanted what Nicole and Orchid had. She would do anything to get it. She knew that her and Tania were great and she had come to love Tania but she knew they did not have what Nicole and Orchid had. Few could.
Catherine returned to New Cyndrial to confront Rosalie. She, like Elizabeth and the Corens had developed the darker manipulative culture of the Betazoid Alliance. These Betazoids were not the helpful spirits of Deanna Troi or the great lover as Luaxana Troi. These Betazoids were manipulative and power hungry believing that their extra sensory abilities made them superior.
Catherine went to Rosalie to share the secret.
Catherine told Rosalie that this was all Elizabeth's fault and that she had manipulated the situation in order to bring the Trill hosted Loiza Coren her Orchid Coren so that she would stay out of Betazoid Politics and the Matriarchy. Catherine told Rosalie that she would have told Nicole the whole truth had she come to her first but instead she attacked Branson leaving her brutalized and not wanting any part of Rosalie.
Catherine left with an ugly smirk on her face. She had no realized it until Tania told her how hurt Nicole had been by the attack by Rosalie Prang'Laar that she still had feelings for Nicole. Catherine had a lot of Elizabeth in her spirit. She was a master manipulator.
Rosalie Prang'Laar made the choice. She attacked Nicole Branson and that crime has a penalty. Rosalie chose to administer the penalty.
The curse is very real. Why would anyone get involved with Nicole Branson? Is she like Camelot itself ~ there is something beautiful and worthwhile at its core but is getting it worth it? I am sure the miners ask that very same question all the time.
