Vincent walked into the room. Christine was sitting there. Vincent glared at her, "What the hell is the press doing here?"
Vincent looked straight at Governor Coren. Eugenio looked back, "Christine broke the story. The Tholians are making threats about taking control of the Phoenix Colony and using its Dilithium resources to expand their own interests in the Beta Quadrant."
"Are the threats credible?", Vincent looked at Christine.
"I think so?", Christine did not sound overly convinced.
"Has anyone asked Commander Sanders?", Vincent asked.
"What? The silly red head freak who runs the Providence?", Eugenio snapped.
"She is of Tholian Decent. She may be able to decipher the validity.", Vincent retorted.
"She is a child. Her command failed. She is assigned to the Colony as a support ship. Nothing more.", Eugenio snapped.
"What does Nicole think?", Vincent asked.
"Nicole Branson is an idiot.", Eugenio grumbled.
"She is married to your daughter.", Vincent snapped back.
"Don't remind me.", Elizabeth walked in. Vincent turned around.
"Cherry, send a priority message to the USS Providence; include the Christine T'Nley transmission. Get a response back immediately. Tell Monty to mind his P's and Q's. This is a Tholian Threat.", Vincent ordered Cheerful Vasa to make the response.
"I will decide what messages will be sent to the support vessel.", Eugenio shouted.
"This is now a military matter. I am the Military Commander In Chief. I will decide.", Vincent shouted.
"How is that little one of yours?", Elizabeth asked.
"Is that a threat, Commander?", Vincent glared at his former mistress. He understood the tone.
"The civilian government will decide the next course of action.", Elizabeth warned.
Cherry walked back in, "The Tholian Signature is correct. It has been confirmed by Commander Sanders."
"Dispatch the Providence and the Quasar Quest to investigate the origin of the threat.", Viceroy ordered.
"The civilian government will decide.", Elizabeth shouted.
"Listen, bitch! The defence of the colony is priority one. Steps must be taken to prepare for the Tholian threat. Someone must have reported to them about the vulnerability of the Phoenix Federation's Beta Quadrant territories with the troubles on New Terra. I will defend this colony. This is now a Federal decision and fall under the authority of the highest ranking Federation official, Vice President Nicole Branson.", Vincent snapped.
"Order John and Vanessa to report any findings.", Vincent ordered Cherry.
"Yes, Sir.", Cherry responded. She loved seeing the civilian government put in its place.
"Have Elora escort our civilian guests from the premises.", Vincent ordered.
"Yes, Sir.", Cherry chuckled. Elizabeth was not pleased.
Christine got up to leave.
"Wait, Ms. T'Nley.", Vincent requested.
"Thank you for bringing this to our attention. It may have saved us all a few headaches.", Vincent explained.
"Doing my civic duty.", Christine responded.
Vincent doubted that. Christine had barely left the building when images of the Providence and Double Q were on ONN with images of Christine T'Nley and the words, "Hero of the Colony. The Prophets Bless the Press."
Vincent could not help but chuckle. Christine never does anything just for others. There is always an ONN motivation.
