Brooklyn awoke on the edge of the bed looking at the cable attached to her seventh appendage, her infamous tail. The cable was slowly tightening. The pain was unbareable. She looked at it and thought about her kidnapping by the Klingons and about her Vincent.
The voice boomed into the room, "No one loves you. You are a freak. You were abandoned by your parents because you had four limbs. A seventh limb only serves to make you more hideous. We are only here to help you. We have tightened the cable and will continue to tighten it until the appendage is removed. You need to simply to survive."
Brooklyn looked at her tail as the immense pain begin to fill her brain. She started to cry. Each of the players have been left crying. Each of the players has been left a pit of of failure. They have been left soiled, crying and without hope. They have been left to understand what the Klingons felt when the Cardassians entered Kalama. The message has been sent.
Brooklyn looked back as blood began to spew from her tail. The sight sent her vomiting in a mixture of pain and fear. The voice boomed once again, "All you need to do is survive. We all know that you want to give up. You want to quit. You want to die."
Brooklyn thought of Vincent and tried to focus on that. She thought of Governor's Station. She thought of Omega Prime and she started to cry once more. The pain was a reminder of what was good about the colony. It was a reminder that survival meant another chance to be on the colony with its citizenry.
Brooklyn fell to the ground as her limb finally fell off. She crawled to her feet and opened the door. She was in the Federation Complex in Omega Prime. She had been there all along. She screamed into the wall comm, "God, someone help me."
Vincent came directly to the Dr. Leonard McCoy Institute. Giancarla had already cleaned up the lost appendage. Vincent looked at Brooklyn, "I thought I may never see you again."
Brooklyn looked up, "I would always come back for you."
