The Omega Academy has had some famous students before. Lt. Commander D'Tall of Orion is perhaps the best known serving the Epsilon Force station, Deep Space 15 as the executive officer but there have been others.
Wendy Smith now looks after one of the most important archeological digs ever discovered at Outpost 294 and even Tiara Teero, the accused student killer who turned out to be framed by the Jem'Hadar and the Founders.
These students have brought interplanetary interest but no student has brought interplanetary interest like the special guest of Commodore Tuvok, Sovendara of Salaria. The Citadel Council has been courted by the United Federation of Planets for membership. The Council contains many races, some highly advanced and some with the similar peaceful intentions of the Federation. To this end, formal negotiations have begun with the Citadel Council and their representative Sovendara of Salaria.
Commander Sovendara himself made the proposal with Federation negotiator Commodore Tuvok. He need to understand and know more about the Federation to be a better and more useful negotiator. The Commodore knew the Salarian would cause a huge stir in San Francisco and suggested that the Salarian attend a regional Academy campus to become less conspicuous.
The Omega Academy was chosen because of the many refugees on the Phoenix Colony. Through the immigration efforts of Vice Admiral Nicole Branson, the Colony institution has nearly all races of the Federation represented and because of the free housing and food, there have been few instances of aggression.
Through the outstanding efforts of Omega News Network Producer Christine T'Nley, the Phoenix Colony has been able to gain the following image of Commander Sovendara speaking to his troops before leaving for the Phoenix Colony. The speech serves as evidence of his character.
He is a fine man and will serve the Citadel Council well in his studies here at the Omega Academy on the Phoenix Colony.
