The truth is the Romulan Ground Forces are in the countryside. They will take the city of Rome and the problem will be solved. This is the simplest solution, but oh no, not on the Phoenix Colony.
Vice Admiral Nicole Branson, right here in Omega Prime has stated that the colony supports the current leadership of Vorta'Rome. What the hell are you thinking, princess!?!
The Romulans are a proud people. This is the their Phoenix Colony alotment. Theirs to rule and decide its functionality as they see fit. The Federation should not be prepared to go into a ground war with anyone, anywhere. The Federation builds massive ships to avoid these personal conflicts. We are a space faring people. Furthermore, Commodore Viceroy should have the skill and understanding to avoid this conflict support but instead, the self appoint Chief Diplomatic Officer has spent his time negotiating with Commander T'Ros the so-called "soft" military support of the beseiged city. The colony has agreed to provide pictures from New Netherlands and the USS Yang Liwei to help in planning and defence of Rome but will not provide full fledged marine support. This is insane. This man once lead the King's Fleet and now he is negotiating with a rebel Romulan leader. No wonder he is a commodore now. After this protocol violation, he should be a damn ensign.
Now to Captain Reed, the so-called hero of the Black Hole Soul mission for the destruction of two failing Romulan vessels. The Air Command Representative of the Phoenix Fleet is now seen a vile and devastating killer by the Romulans. The Romulans see the Yang Liwei as a war ship who started the formal fire conflict on the Phoenix Colony. I pray that the inexperienced Reed is careful now. This is not a game to the Romulans. This is a demonstration of their power. No one stands up to the Praetor, in particular a wayward colony leader.
In truth, Nicole has sympathy for T'Ros. No one wants her to lead the Phoenix Colony either. She is an incompetent idiot but the Fleet is too soft to remove her from command. Commander T'Ros caused the Fires of Omega, was indirectly responsible for the freeze that killed 20000 people on the colony. She too is incompetent but the Romulans at least have the guts to remove her.
My question is, when does the seige of Territory Omega began? When will the marine ground forces be brought in to remove Nicole?
