Admiral William Wells once sat on the Omega Fleet Council as part of Star Fleet representing the Temporal Investigations division. Wells now is a high ranking member of the senior command of New Terra, the centerpiece of the Phoenix Federation in the Amanda Corridor and he sat at the head of the table listening to Vice Admiral Brenna Montgomery explaining the appearance of the USS Apollo.
Star Fleet Temporal Investigation in 2450 did theorize about the potential for paradox so the children, Bullerton Brown, Brenna Montgomery, Jenerica and Lyris Bell were all removed from the reality and are being safely taken care of. This was not a Retarnee abduction but rather a preemptive strike to allow the events of the Federation retaking of Outpost 395 to be delayed. Brenna and her reality would not have unfolded had the Federation taken the colony.
In 2450, out of the Phoenix Colony freedom fighters war, a peace will be struck between the growing Phoenix Federation loyalists and Star Fleet to reorganize the region under Star Fleet command. Regional command would fall to Vice Admiral Brenna Montgomery of the Phoenix Fleet. Brenna had been informed of a drastic change in the timeline by Star Fleet Temporal Investigations when President William Hunt abandoned the Amanda Corridor Conference. The events were not in known recorded history and threatened to divert the timeline. Something needed to be done.
Brenna and her staff knew it was a one way ticket. If they came back, they would do so without the ability to leap forward into the future. They however needed to avert the Federation from retaking the colony at any cost. Brenna spoke with an eloquence that had escaped her mother, Nicole Branson or grandmother Tania Branson. She was poised and articulate.
Nicole watched in awe as her daughter held court with representatives of the Federation, the Phoenix Federation and the Romulan Empire looking on. Nicole looked at Brenna as they walked out of the conference, "How old are you now?"
Brenna smiled, "I am 70 years old."
Because of the amazing abilities of microsurgery, she looked about 30 years old. She was a stunning beauty who had lived a full life. Nicole, herself only in her 40s found the whole events to be totally unsavory. Her daughter was 30 years her senior.
"What happens now?", Nicole asked.
"My staff has already begun research into moving us back into our reality but for now, we are your guests.", Brenna responded.
"Don't worry, mother. You did a great job in raising me. I learned all the things that I needed to learn in life here on the Phoenix Colony. This has been my home. I would die to protect it... Just like you.", Brenna put her arm on her mother's shoulder.
Nicole looked at Brenna, "And what of grandchildren?"
The words were positively foreign to her. Brenna smiled, "Bull and I have 4 children. Two girls and two boys. The girls are almost 100% indistinguishable from other humans despite their Antican father. The boys are Antican to the core and look like their father or Belvedere Brown."
Bell came walking up to Nicole, "I gather you have heard."
Nicole smiled, "I guess we are family."
Bell hugged Nicole, "My dear, we have always been family. We are Phoenix Colony."
"The Apollo has technology far beyond our own from here in 2391. Nanites have already begun work to repair the damage done to Governor's Station and many of the ships in the King's Battlegroup.", Bell explained.
Nicole looked at Brenna, "Thank you."
"You know mother that we cannot stay. We will be leaving.", Brenna explained.
"I do.", Nicole frowned.
"Your Brenna will be back as soon as the temporal restorations can be made.", Admiral Brenna Montgomery continued.
"What am I supposed to do?", Nicole asked, almost tearing up.
"Just keep doing what you are doing... Raise her up right and she will become me... the best representative of how good a mother you were.", Brenna hugged Nicole.
Nicole started to cry, "I will do my best."
