Marcus was not overly impressed by being summoned to the Phoenix Federation Complex. Marcus did his own thing. He was NOT summoned. He was less impressed to meet Caitlin Wu there. The notorious Wu is someone that Marcus knew. She played both sides of the fence. She was tight with Admiral Dominic Montgomery, Commodore Alexander Paige and the Federation and she was here with the Phoenix Colony.
Elora Vasa, the Betazoid Executive Assistant to Commodore Vincent Viceroy and Vincent walked in and looked at the pair, "Ok spill it. What do you know?"
Marcus said nothing. The truth is he was not even sure what Vincent was talking about. Caitlin tried to plead innocent. She looked at Marcus dumbfounded.
Elora called up the HUD display and showed the transphasic devastation that was the destruction of the USS Apollo. The four torpedoes ripping into the hull of the very important ship. Vincent looked at Caitlin, "These torpedoes were jumping realities. This is why they were not detected by the sophisticated 2450 technology on the Apollo. Who built them?"
Caitlin secretly hoped that Marcus would answer. Marcus had to know. His contacts in the business community would surely have lead to some understanding that the Retarnee had been sniffing around trying to gain more understanding about the temporal incidents that occurred on the colony including the Babylon Station, the Apollo and other incidents that occurred particularly in the Typhon Expanse. Marcus said nothing. He had a deep loyalty to his business contacts.
Caitlin looked at Vincent, "Do I have immunity?"
"Come on, Wu. You know that I know who you are. I would not bring you here to arrest you.", Vincent snapped.
"The Retarnee have been testing transphasic weaponry at Straninburg. This is based on equations developed from research conducted here and at New Terra on President Hunt's Stargate projects. The goal was to create a torpedo that could pass through space in a seperate reality and then reenter our reality at a specific location, hence the Apollo disaster.", Caitlin responded.
"With this understanding, you can now test and prevent any future attacks.", Wu looked at Vincent.
"That is the least of our worries.", Vincent frowned.
"I don't understand", Caitlin looked at Marcus and Vincent.
"The transphasic torpedo entered another reality. That much is for certain. The transphasic torpedo can now be detected and any future attacks can be prevented.", Vincent explained.
"So its all good.", Caitlin smiled in her Asian beauty.
"Not exactly.", Vincent looked at Elora who altered the heads up display.
"The Retarnee are a war like people. They wanted to create a weapon capable of destroying the Apollo. They never thought this through. They did not understand. They did not get it. Any extra universal travel has to be clearly mapped to make certain no other realities are altered or an incorrect reality is entered. Do you follow me?", Vincent explained.
"I do not.", Marcus still did not understand why he was here.
"The transphasic torpedo entered "liquid" space and created a tear. Furthermore the transphasic torpedo clipped a fighter in that reality spiralling it into an asteroid killing its pilot.", Vincent responded.
"The Phoenix Colony received this message.", Vincent looked at the HUD.
"An attack from your reality killed one of our pilots. Once it is determined who attacked our vessel. This will be dealt with accordingly.", the alien spoke.
Caitlin screamed, "Oh my god, Species 8472!!"
Vincent looked at the pair, "We have a serious problem."
