Nicole spent her Saturday sad and embarrassed over her shouting match with Lisa in the courtyard of the Dr. Leonard McCoy Teaching hospital. She worked dilligently on getting her paper work done and then headed to the commune. She had a glass of wine but sat alone. She was going over Borg Schematics and the invasion potential. She had learned this morning that the Leffler Disruptor had been able to briefly interfere with Borg Communications on a cube near the Beloti Expanse. She was actually proud of Lisa and her accomplishment though she would never tell her that.
Nicole went to the Cardassian Community. For her safety, after she became governor, she had moved to Governor's mansion but she truly enjoyed being with the refugees. Nicole was most disappointed to see a family living in a tent. She confronted the Cardassian Man. He informed her that in exchange for being brought to the colony, he had to sign over his home to the local crime lord. Nicole was furious and informed the gentlemen to go to the Colony offices and get a new assignment tomorrow. She also promised to speak to Commodore Viceroy and Commissioner Evans about the rising organized crime on her ever growing city. Nicole was embarrassed. She got the little Cardassian child an ice cream and rubbed his head.
The Cardassian looked at Nicole, "Thank you, Miss Nicole."
Nicole walked back, "No, sir. Thank you. It pleases me that people want to come here and want to be a part of this."
The Cardassian lowered his head. Nicole put her hand under his chin, "Hold her head up high, my friend. Tomorrow you shall have a home. Tomorrow you shall be home."
The Cardassian smiled. Nicole walked to Governor's Mansion. She knew that she had done a good thing but she had to find out. Vincent would have to find out how these criminals are getting into her colony.
Nicole walked into the house and ran a nice bath. She had a lot of stress in her role within the fleet and in the colony. She slowly lowered into the bath and soaked her stresses away.
Lisa left the Faculty of Engineering late. She went to the Commune to meet Dr. Skylight Greene. The pair had been very close this week while Lisa experimented around the colony. Lisa was stunned to see Skye there with a man, a young doctor. Lisa stood in the doorway and watched as Skye kissed him deeply on the mouth.
She stormed over and confronted Skye. Skye looked at her and snapped, "Be quiet, Lt. Commander Leffler. Shut up and listen!!"
"Ella was my little sister and my friend. Nicole and I tried the romance thing but I just did not like it or for that matter did I particularly like her.", Skye snarled.
Lisa tried to speak but was interrupted by Skye.
"Nicole got Ella killed. The Phoenix Fleet got Ella killed. She can now know what it like to lose somebody. To lose you!!", Skye bitched.
Lisa was floored, "Nancy was her f**king sister, bitch!!"
Skye brushed by Lisa, "This has only just begun. Nicole will pay for hurting Ella."
Lisa started to cry standing in the center of the Commune. Skye and her doctor friend stormed from the club. Lisa stood there, everyone looking at her.
She slinked from the club.
Nicole got out of the tub and put on some old clothes. She was going to do some clean up and then go to bed. Hopefully, tomorrow will be a better day.
The door chimed. Who could possibly be here this late? Nicole opened the door. It was Lisa, her eyes still full of tears. She looked at Nicole. She stood in the doorway and told the story about being manipulated by Dr. Greene and about the pain of losing Ella. Nicole stood there. The girls stood there silent.
Should she let her in? Nicole was alone in her thoughts. Lisa was alone in her embarrassment. Finally Nicole leaned in, accepting.
Lisa was horribly embarrassed. She kept apologizing but Nicole just kissed her again. She hated to be alone. She hated it so much. With Nancy gone, she thought it would be just her and some random girl.
The pair retired to the bedroom. Lisa told Nicole she would do anything, anything to make it up to her.
Nicole awoke about 10:00. She and Lisa had been up late. Lisa was in the shower when Nicole went downstairs. She could not believe how her fortunes had changed. In a period of days, she had experienced the great high of a new love, the great low of having that love betray her and the remarkable joy of make-up love. All in an ever so brief time frame.
Lisa came downstairs, with her newly altered hair and coyly peaked around the corner. She looked at Nicole, once again the lust they pair had felt both last night and when they first met. Nicole could not resist. Lisa had some making up to do. She was okay doing just that. She deserved whatever punishment Nicole would give her for her "loose Lisa" behavior.
Oh, to be a fly on the wall in that kitchen...
