Nicole was in a sheer state of chaos. She and Vincent had decided to staff up a large portion of Sparta with the current student group. This meant field promotions for many of the students in the Omega Academy. Nicole was recruiting students in sheer panic with all the issues surrounding the activities of Admiral Hunt and the worry that the skills were not transferable to a Federation School.
Nicole spent the morning on the Comm-link with every single contact she had. Thankfully, the Betazed Council agreement to meet with the Phoenix personnel had led to more than 1000 student applications from overcrowded Betazoid Schools. Nicole was also making headway with the Bajoran Republic. They simply cannot offer the facilities that are available at the Omega Academy. Remarkably, the Bajoran Republic agrees to recognize Omega Academy rank assignment meaning Bajorans could graduate with rank. Nicole was overjoyed.
Suddenly, there was a call from Dr. Orchid Coren. Brenna was in trouble at the school. Orchid told Nicole that she could not leave the Viral Research Center.
Nicole had to go to the school just when she was her busiest. Nicole dreaded leaving her staff to do the work but this was Brenna, her daughter.
The principal of James T. Kirk Elementary informed Nicole that Brenna had refused to complete her math project. Brenna promptly admitted to the crime.
Nicole screamed, "Why would you do this?"
"When a person of authority does something you feel is unjust, you must speak out.", Brenna explained.
"Who the hell told you that?", Nicole asked, getting more enraged.
"Admiral Hunt.", Brenna smiled.
Nicole glared at Brenna, "Admiral Hunt is being persecuted!"
"Math is persecution.", Brenna snapped back.
Nicole smiled. She knew how the poor little girl felt. Math is persecution.
"You will have to do your math, Brenna.", Nicole finally ordered.
"I will do it.", Brenna pouted, "but I am like Hunt, I am being persecuted by this school and by my own mother."
Brenna stormed from the room, but returned slowly to pick up her math PADD.
