Nicole and her entourage stood with Comina Kira as the Bajoran made the offer of the role of Governor to the Phoenix Federation cast off. Nicole smiled as she stood with General Hon'Tihl Kabarann and Ambassador T'Ken of Romulus. The girls have been inseperable since arriving here in Ephyra.
The Bajorans have made it clear that they do not trust Honey or T'Ken and want them off the colony. Nicole has argued that if Ephyra is going to blossom, it must be able to recruit all races. This means keeping old enemies of the Federation close. Comina is also not a fan but agreed to keep Honey on the colony as a member of the legislative assembly.
The fly in the ointment is Ambassador T'Ken. Comina served on the Tanmesad during the first interaction with her mother and often had run ins with then Commander T'Ros and the Romulan's Eagle's Talon Task Group. Because Ephyra is so close to the edge of the Cardassian Union, Comina wanted no part of the Romulan.
Nicole advised that she would keep T'Ken on in the legislative assembly. T'Ken and Nicole finally left Third Corinthians for the surface. Nicole had already convinced Colonel Teero to begin construction of an Academy. In the interim, it will serve as a high school for the young people of Ephyra. Once recruitment can begin, the Ephyra Academy of Star Fleet Technology or Star Fleet East can begin to teach the ways of Star Fleet with a Bajoran bias. A peaceful slant on the equipment would be very valuable.
Commander T'Ken looked at Nicole, "Why did you save me? I could have been banned from the Bajoran Colony. It would not have affected your standing."
Nicole looked at T'Ken, "I have no one here. Since we were in pods aboard the Tanmesad and in quarantine aboard Third Corinthians, you have been my best friend. I will take care of you."
