Lindsay looked at Elora. They had become good friends over the past couple of months. Elora was a fine commander. They both knew it.
"I cannot believe he would do this for me.", Elora snapped.
"He is doing it for love.", Lindsay put her arm on her shoulder.
"I had a command.", Elora looked at the Diana dedication plaque.
"And you did well with it.", Lindsay smiled.
Elora looked at Lindsay, "Take care of the Diana. She truly is a princess."
"I will.", Lindsay hugged Elora.
This is the King's Fleet. This is not a military operations unit, this is a family.
Lindsay looked at her new assignment as Executive Officer of the Diana once more. The PADD offered little comfort. Who was the new Captain? Could it be worse? She had had Elora and Tania but what could be coming could be far worse.
She had met Rear Admiral Hatherton of Temporal Investigations. She had seen how these zealots could behave.
"Executive Officer to the Captain's Ready Room.", the computer voice ordered.
Lindsay took a deep breath.
"Dress Uniform Required.", the computer offered.
Lindsay was suddenly terrified. Dress uniform... She put on the King's Fleet purple. She stood and looked in the mirror.
She was literally shaking as she walked through the bridge of the Diana. No one had seen the new commanding officer coming in. Everyone had sympathy for Lindsay. She was a damn fine pilot who had served on the helm of the Tanmesad in the Omega Fleet and on several vessels in the Phoenix and now King's Fleet. What was she in for.
Lindsay opened the door. The new commander came walking in from the back.
"Sunny!", Lindsay exclaimed.
"I came back for you and for the Diana if you will have me.", S'Nii looked at Lindsay.
"But what about Tania?", Lindsay offered.
"I realized what I had... What we had. I want that back.", S'Nii looked at Lindsay.
"I bought this outfit for you. A new dress uniform.", S'Nii forced a chuckle.
Lindsay walked over and hugged her tightly.
"Welcome back.", Lindsay whispered.
S'Nii hugged her tightly, "It is good to be here."
