Elizabeth Coren has been the dragon lady of the Betazoid Alliance for over 5 years still very upset over the involvement of first Dr. Orchid Coren and then Dr. Magenta Coren-Branson with Nicole Branson.
Branson had been a darling of Star Fleet running two Academies and three colonies in her career. She has been able to float her way through even the darkest of waters surviving three invasions on the Phoenix Colony and now here on Ephyra.
Elizabeth has been mortified with a budding romance between Catherine Coren and Nicole Branson. She was very upset to see Nicole and Catherine on the Tanmesad and needed to put a stop to it.
Elizabeth concocted a plan to take down Vash Enranet as Governor of Ephyra. She would then make a play for Governor knowing that Branson would not be able to resist the opportunity to make a play for the Governor.
Knowing the intense hatred of the Bajorans for the Betazoids over the theft of the Omega Sands, Nicole would not be able to associate with a Betazoid. Nicole and Catherine would be finished.
How will Nicole deal with this new move in the Coren-Branson chess game?
