Nicole had learned what Elizabeth did on Governor's. She also knew that Penny was very upset. She had to go to the Governor's Office upon return from Betazed. She came home to find Penny sleeping on the bed.
She looked so cute. Nicole could not believe how lucky she was. It was the first time she felt non-sexual love for anyone since Orchid. She just stood in the doorway and watched her sleep.
Penny slowly awoke and turned back, "Why are you with me?"
"I am with you because you have a caring spirit. I saw it for the first time when you were caring for Brenna. I saw it that night in our flirtatious one night stand and I saw it now when you were sleeping on the bed.", Nicole smiled at her new lover.
"I have a pig snout. I am not lik the others. I have seen Orchid, Magenta, Lavender, the others. They are beautiful. They look like you.", a tear showed in Penny's eyes.
"You must also know about Wave. She was a Talosian and I loved her.", Nicole reminded Penny.
"Not for long.", Penny wailed.
"You will find another human or Betazed and then I will be alone again, just like I was when Pran left me. Elizabeth opened my eyes. She is not the enemy. She helped me to realize that I am just a plaything for you. I will be moving back to the Institute.", Penny sobbed.
Nicole sat down on the bed. Elizabeth had finally scored one. She had hurt her badly by convincing Penny that she could not be the one.
She thought of Penny sleeping when she came back. She had not had those feelings in so long and now that girl, maybe THE girl was walking out the door.
