Dr. Xact Tchilack arrived in the colonies as a cousin of Tchilick Tchilack and has worked as a scientist and ambassador with the King’s Fleet. He is famous for his three legs and for his crown lungs and mouth in the top of his head. There are many wonders in the universe. He has been seen as positively cool to observe with his crown lung moving with each breath. They have a kind of sticky mucousy feel that is resemblant to fly sticky’s from old Earth.
He has always been seen as a very kind soul and has on occasion even had a partner or two. He returned to Reykja Penthe after Admiral Hadrian assumed the role of Chancellor and had been working as a research and lecturer preparing students for service on King’s Fleet stations or vessels.
Admiral Deveniss was in the Omega Pod when Dr. Tchilack showed up. He looked at the Selayan, “I have a question?”
”Yes, Doctor.”, the old Selayan looked at the Xindi-Edosian Hybrid.
“Where did you get the pods?”, Xact asked with a blunt firmness that caught Deveniss by surprise.
”They were brought here by Starfleet after the colony failed and the King’s Fleet ceased operations the last time.”, Deveniss looked at the Academy Professor.
”And why did they do that?’, Xact furrowed his brow.
“It was to provide a retirement home for myself and Admiral Tan.”, Deveniss replied, puzzled by the line of questions.
“Why were there so many?”, Xact looked at the Selayan Admiral.
”I wondered myself but believed that the colony may become a retirement facility for other regional fleet authority leaders.”, Deveniss said without much stock in his statement.
”Tan and I kept the room cleaned and the beds made.”, Deveniss replied like a good soldier.
”We were so happy when the prison ship fell.”, Deveniss continued, “We had also worked to refurbish the vessels of the King’s Fleet during our downtime using the industrial replicators that remained here.”
“Why were the pods built in such a manner as to survive a heavy Klingon attack and to survive being buried in the ground?”. Xact looked at Deveniss.
”I do not know. I never gave it much thought.”, Deveniss looked at the doctor.
”My research has shown that there may be more going on here than we believed.”, Dr. Tchilack looked at Deveniss.
”Like what?”, Deveniss looked puzzled.
”Like experimenting on the survival abilities of the Xindi in a extinction level event.”, Agent Cameron Viceroy joined the scientist and fleet commander in the Omega Pod.
”What?”, Deveniss looked at the Section 31.
”The idea came from Earth pop culture in the first two decades of the 2020s.”, Cameron smiled.
”What?’, Deveniss looked at the Agent.
”In the popular game of the era, inhabitants of Earth were saved in pods the producers called Vaults. These vaults were supposed to protect the inhabitants in an extinction level event caused by a nuclear war. The vaults however were used not only for saving lives but also for experiments on the inhabitants including mutant creating efforts, torments of every type and even cannibalism and lottery based sacrifices.”, Cameron explained.
”Are you saying we are Guinea pigs?”, Deveniss looked at the Section 31 agent.
“Section 31 neither confirms nor denies any such experiment on the Klingon colony of Reykja Penthe.”, Cameron turned and walked away laughing.
