Nicole walked in on Seahir Marrus sitting on her couch talking to Olive. She knew what she was there for but she still had to ask the question, "What are you doing here?"
"Olive is a fine tactician, Vice Admiral.", the Romulan looked at Nicole.
Nicole looked at Olive trying to read her face. The sad part is she could see it in her eyes. She saw that look. Olive was an astronaut. She loved to be in space and on a ship. It was in her nature. Nicole knew the look from her own mother, from her relationships with Vincent Viceroy, with Tim Veltkamp and with William Hunt. Though these great men had rank, it was space that was their true mistress. Olive had stars in her eyes.
Nicole loved Olive but she could not give her that. She remembered seeing that same look in the eyes of a young S'Nii of Vulcan when the student first came to see her. Though S'Nii claimed to lust for Branson, it was space that was her true love.
Nicole hugged Olive and told her it would be okay. Olive gathered her children and followed Captain Marrus from the suburban home of the Fleet Commander.
Nicole sat down on the couch with Brenna, Colby and Mac, "It just wasn't meant to be."
Nicole got the kids off to school and then headed for Governor's Tower to take the space lift to Lt. Governor's Station and her new role as Fleet Commander. Nicole was surprised to see Commander Taleen walk into her office to accept her patrol assignment personally. Taleen Tanus had made several passes at Nicole after her break up with D'Tall and Zoe Beamon without much success. Commander Taleen asked that her lieutenant Rosalie Prang'Laar take down the details.
Rosalie and Nicole were soon talking about Penny and even about Olive as Rosalie, the youngest of the three sisters got a better understanding of life with Nicole Branson and her three children.
Rosalie was back aboard the William when she sent a subspace message to the Prince Edward. The message directed straight to Edward Tactical Officer Olive Pan'Taar. Rosalie was downright arrogant as she gloated about her new triumph. She mocked Olive, "Maybe this is the start of something special."
Olive looked at the image of Rosalie being mounted by Branson and scoffed, "Slut!"
It is still a wonder to whom she was referring... Was she referring to Nicole, her former lover who was too quick to give her up to the Edward or was she referring to her little sister who was all too quick to jump on her sloppy seconds...
