The Yo Yo Effect Empty
PostSubject: The Yo Yo Effect   The Yo Yo Effect EmptyMon Jul 30, 2012 8:40 pm

"Four Hudek Class Cardassian Vessels on an attack vector.", Summer announced.

"Announce our defences.", Commodore Tan ordered.

"The fighter squadron is not ready.", D'Tall announced.

"Damn!", Tan responded. He glared at the Orion still upset that she left the marines for Hatherton and his cronies.

"The Tanmesad is in pursuit but will not be able to defend the station.", Summer relayed the Vash Enranet callout.

"The Diana is on the Romulan border and is too far to respond.", Summer frowned reading Commander Marrus' report in.

"Do we have any defences?", Admiral Viceroy snapped not pleased with the results of the announcements.

T'Zohl looked at John, "We are still out of range. We won't be fast enough."

"What about a sling shot using the gravity of the mining colony?", John asked.

"It won't be enough.", S'Nii announced from the Tactical Station.

"Wait a minute, how about using the spinning core of Camelot to pull us in.", T'Zohl suggested.

"The probelm becomes releasing the tractor beam. If you don't release at the exact moment, the beam will gradually shorten and drag us into the planet.", the former Academy darling looked at T'Zohl and Warren.

"We have to save the station.", John announced.

"It is worth the risk.", John ordered.

The mighty sovereign attached it itself to the core, accelerated to maximum warp and then some.

"Breakaway!", T'Zohl ordered.

Lindsay scrambled to try to shut the beam off.

"Now!!", the Vulcan demanded.

Lindsay scrambled. S'Nii frantically tried to help her as the altitude dropped rapidly.

John warned, "Come on, ladies."

He tried in vane to hide his fear. The Quest was crashing. He knew ot as much as they did.

Suddenly the legendary sovereign flung into low orbit directly in the path of the Cardassians.

"Well done, ladies.", John's voice cracked in false acknowledgement as he smiled, "I knew you could do it."

T'Zohl looked at Lindsay, "Thank you, dear."

Lindsay smiled, "My pleaaure."

John smiled as the Hudek turned to bug out. For the first time, The King's Fleet was for real.
