Things often move swiftly in politics. It began with a single revelation. FBN, the Federation Broadcast Network, discovered an ongoing affair between Admiral Deveniss of Selay and Praetor Saehir Marrus of the Romulan Star Empire.
The scandal brought forth a vote of non-confidence and with a sudden pass of the pen, Admiral James Hatherton is once again swept into power as Head of Starfleet. An embarrassed and shocked Deveniss headed for Camelot destroyed and embarrassed.
Hatherton's actions were swift and decisive condemning the King's Fleet attack on Darona, the rebel republic within the Betazoid Alliance and sanctioning the alliance with demands to remove the vessels in the King's Fleet or risk further assaults from Federation vessels.
Against extreme protests by Captain John Warren of the USS Quasar Quest, the vessels of the King's Fleet were ordered placed in Dry Docks at First Corinthian's Station orbiting Betazed. Hatherton threatened to remove the colony charter if Warren did not stop yelling during a filibuster in Paris.
On August 22, 2393, The USS Archangel appeared in the dry dock hub orbiting the station. The appearance seemed to be a launch code for the rebels at Darona launching a counterstrike against Medara.
Admiral Hatherton watched with glee from Earth knowing the Betazoid Civil War was going to eliminate his rivals. It would be Admiral Tan on Observatory 642 who would announce the appearance of 5 sovereign class vessels on the horizon.
The site was a horrible reminder of the Romulan assault at Cheron VI, the former home of the colonists of Camelot. Tan looked at Teshra. The beautiful Andorian turned to Rear Admiral Catherine Coren and smiled, "Now!!"
Strategic placed around the city of Camelot, small little shuttle bases were set up for rides to Observatory 642.... Allegedly.
Hereafter, these bases will now be known as the Seats of the Round Table. In an amazing development, the vessels of the King's Fleet, supposedly in dry dock at First Corinthians, rose from beneath the small bases.
The vessels rose in defence of the colony and in defence of the right thing to do.
Admiral James Hatherton has promised sanctions against the Betazoid Alliance, against Admiral Alexander Laree and against Admiral Vincent Viceroy for their defiance. So far, few have spoken out in support of Hatherton.
He exploited Deveniss to assume power. He abused the power to sanction the King's.
Long live the King's.
