The Cardassian Union had been a model fledgling democracy under Minister Elim Garak. Garak would adopt the name Castallan as the political leader of the Detapa Council. Castallan Garak had established trade relations with the Ferengi and even tried to help the Breen Confederacy after the war.
The amazing steps taken by persons like Elim Garak, Thua’ra Varno and Vash Enranet were instrumental in bringing the Cardassians into the Federation Age. These efforts were sent into chaos by the Romulan presence in the region. The Romulans were so desperate to protect their superiority and the current timeline that they lashed out against all races. They attacked Cardassian trade routes and crippled their economy sending Cardassia into chaos.
The once mighty Detapa Council splintered into warring factions. These factions soon armed themselves and disintegrated into chaos. Where once stood a mighty council now stood warlords battling for control. These warlords were soon attacking neighbouring worlds to create chaos including bringing that chaos to Bajor. The Sector was destroyed by the Romulan superpower interference.
Vincent and Carnation listened to the lecture. The Betazoid was terrified by the thoughts of the regional chaos. She felt the fear in the regular Cardassians. They were not warlords or even soldiers. They were once again trapped in the middle of the chaos.
Vincent left Federation One for Camelot. He was aboard Station Sisko. He brought Vash Enranet and his crew to the briefing room on the station. He weaved the tale of what he had learned aboard Federation One.
Vincent looked at Gul Enranet, “I need you to go to Cardassia Prime and assess the situation. The USS Eagle can put you on the planet. I would like you and Gul Varno to find out the status of the central government and the warlords. Find out which one is the most reasonable and the most powerful and we will work to install them as Castallan.”
Vanessa looked at Vincent, “Thua’ra is not mentally well. He has committed acts of horrifying atrocities in his life and is currently undergoing treatment for a post traumatic stress disorder. I cannot permit him to undertake this mission.”
Carnatlon looked at her, “Vanessa!”
“Please, Commander Coren, this is of none of your concern.”, Dr. Vasa looked at the Admiral’s aide.
Thessa Valero-Lau joined the group, “This is extremely dangerous.”
Vash looked at his hidden Bajoran, “These are my people. I have tried to help them in the past. I must try again.”
Vash looked at Thua’ra, “Obsidian Order.”
Thua’ra smiled, “I would prefer Knights of the Round Table. This is the Kingdom of Camelot.”
“Our history is in the hands of the Black Knights.”, Vash smiled, “How appropriate.”
