Charlene Faulkner and Valerie Bell were a big part of the early Tanmesad history. Bell had been a fighter pilot on Sigma Station Alpha and joined the crew as the Flight Commander. She and Charlene enjoyed a wonderful relationship and even raised her two children, Lyris and Janaerica until being lost on the Tanmesad.
Vash had become obsessed with trying get his daughter Lashanra Lyun-Enranet back. Knowing the transporter experiment that prolonged the life of Commander Tchilick Tchilack, the Xindi insectoid who briefly lived as a human female, Vash tried to use the experiment to create a temporal distortion within which he could extract his daughter so she could see how far he had come and be raised with him and Angie.
The experiment was a complete failure and the attempt to extract the child resulted in the botched extraction of Lt. Commander Chivalry Faulker-Bell, the genetic merger of Valerie and Charlene Bell.
The combination has been given a spot aboard the Tanmesad. What else could Vash do?
