The USS Archangel has been used as a medical support vessel in the King's Fleet. In fact, it's legend was enhanced during the temporal assignment for its medical support. The Olympic Class ship with the globe front has extensive scientific capabilities.
Colonel Acrylos Teero used this technology to survey Camelot. The colonies have always been about Dilithium resources. The 80000 vessels in Starfleet are an extensive drain on the rare but powerful fuel source. Acrylos had a theory. He wanted to prove the theory.
Colonel Acrylos Teero contacted the senior Starfleet Tactical Advisor Dr. Xact Tchilack to review his findings. The timeline of Camelot at 63 AD to the current time of 2396 AD is well over 2300 years. The mountains of Carlisle County have held crystals under extreme pressure for that entire time. These crystals were then enhanced by the temporal inversion necessary to bring the colony into the 24th century. These crystals posses the properties of Dilithium.
Dr. Tchilack confirmed the findings but wanted a sample to test. Acrylos arranged to have a piece of the crystal taken from the market and brought to the Archangel. Xact, the Edosian hybrid stood with the Bajoran Colonel Acrylos Teero as the Archangel accelerated under the power of the Camelot crystal. Acrylos smiled. Dr. Tchilack looked at the Bajoran, "While your theory is correct, how do you propose that we mine enough to make this worthwhile. The colony has a temporal protection that is impenetrable."
Acrylos felt his enthusiasm wane. He thought for a moment, "Dwarves! The dwarves were always mining for crystals to trade with the magic users or as gifts to the crown. We would just have to convince them to mine the white crystals."
"And how do you propose we do that?", Xact continued to poke holes in his theorem.
"The Dwarven King would have to show them the value and the crown would have to serve as an accumulation point.", Acrylos looked at Dr. Tchilack.
"Dwarves are a mistrustful race having been used by the crown or the magic users in the past. They will never listen.", Xact smirked.
"They would listen to one of their own.", Acrylos looked at the tall hybrid.
"We don't have one of their own in our service.", Xact shook his head.
"We have always used Branson Beauty or Viceroy Humanizing Surgery to enhance the human characteristics but the technology exists to introduce other races as the primary DNA structure. We could create a Dwarf to interject the value of the crystals.", Acrylos looked at Xact.
"And who would accept such an assignment?", Xact looked at Acrylos.
"This is too important to leave untested. Without the wormhole network, vessels are traveling farther at higher warp speeds. If not one will do it, I will.", the Bajoran announced.
"Wait, what?", Giselle looked at Acrylos.
"I will accept the Dwarven reassignment to convince the dwarves to mine Dilithium. I am the King's Fleet chief engineer. It is my duty.", Acrylos explained.
"I have spent the better part of this year in a human body to please Starfleet. I am not going back down there.", Giselle snapped.
"You could go as a Caitian. The races of the realm would not be offended by your appearance.", Acrylos snapped back.
"I am not going to live in a Dwarven cave hut by candlelight. If you do this, you do it on your own.", Giselle snapped.
Acrylos looked at Xact. The alien looked at the Bajoran, "That probably ends that. Without the hormone production of sexual activity, VHS will not last long."
"This is too great an opportunity to waste. I will begin the VHS calculations immediately.", Acrylos announced.
Acrylos made a handsome dwarf.
He began to counsel the dwarves on the white crystals and their value to Queen Nicole and the potential to trade for great food reserves, seeds for crops and wine. The dwarves were very happy to see the fruits of mining the white crystals which Acrylos dubbed Dwarf Dilithium.
Tests with other vessels, particularly those with more power than the Archangel, were incredible. The Quasar Quest achieved a speed of Warp 12.5 and may have travelled fast had its shields been able to hold. This was a remarkable discovery. Word spread quickly and the Klingon horde changed its tactics moving towards the mountains of Carlisle to try to take the Dwarven Dilithium. The Knights General moved his forces to protect his resources. General Brown reached out to castle groundling Zoe Beamon to lead the unit in the region. She would be restored to Lt. Colonel and given a unit of knights to follow her command.
Zoe and her Zombies earned the first victory over the Klingon horde in the region using full on attack to drive the dangerous Klingons back. Zoe was so happy to be back doing what she loved. The knights soon came to respect the blue Orc princess.
Zoe would tell them tales of her service and of the value of the Dwarven crystals in the heavens. Zoe learned that Colonel Teero had sacrificed his appearance to convince the dwarves to mine Dilithium. She remembered being human in Brooklyn and in Saskatchewan. She remembered what it took to stay human.
Zoe went to the Dwarven miner's camp. She sought out the miner who had helped bring wealth to the dwarves. Zoe smiled when she saw Acrylos. He was happy to see a member of the King's Fleet too. She told him of the great thing he had done. Acrylos scoffed calling it his duty.
Zoe looked at the dwarf, "You have a chance to power Starfleet with your efforts as long as you can keep this up."
"I know what must be done.", Zoe smiled.
The gorgeous Bolian hybrid opened her uniform top to expose her fantastic blue breasts. Acrylos gasped. Zoe looked at the Dwarven miner, "I have sworn an oath to the knights general to do whatever is necessary to protect the Dwarven Dilthium as a resource. I take this oath very seriously."
Zoe took his Dwarven miner's hand and placed it on her breast, "I am for you."
