"She is a beautiful place, Tan.", Vincent looked at his old friend.
"I just don't like it.", the portly Hierarchy clanner looked at Vincent.
"We can make this work.", Summer looked at her long time lover.
"Please, you sided with Focal.", Tan snapped.
Summer walked back towards the console. The new station, built in honor of Magenta Coren was supposed to be a great celebration of the end of the Beta Zeta Sector civil war but unfortunately there is new tension in the region.
Agent Varno confirms that the Klingon attacks on colonies in the Tellar System are using Red Shale Dilithium. The belief is that the Dilithium was taken from the colony of Medara by the Betazoid Alliance and transferred to the Klingons.
Tan has been briefed on the situation. The concern is whether or not the incident occurred under the authority of the Focal Point and the Betazoid First Movement or do the Corens and Larees have a vested interest in the Tellarites rushing home.
Colonel Leopoldo Gral and his family joined the mass exodus for Tellar Prime to help assist the colonies. This movement allowed for Dr. Tegora Vasa to replace Farrah Azoone as Governor of Darona. The move also allowed for the construction of Magenta's Monument, the Sixth Corinthian's Station. Nothing happens without a reason around here.
Tan was given the Destiny Array to give him a command. He was content to just that; run the subspace communications hub. He was a technician in the clan. He never wanted all of this authority. He just wanted the option to do something else than what he was told by the clan.
Tan looked out the window of the beautiful new station. Summer walked over and put her hand inside his, "I can fix this, Tan."
"You chose Focal.", Tan grumbled.
"And then I realized how wrong it was.", Summer looked at Tan, "We all make mistakes."
Tan thought about life in the Delta Quadrant. He thought about his life in the Federation Elite Force and work on his first Starbase. He thought about Destiny's Station and where he found Summer. He thought about life on the colonies and the horrors he had seen. She had stood with him through all of that.
Colonel Teero had done an awesome job. Starfleet finally had a place to stop over through the Beta Zeta Sector. Tan was once again in command at an important station. Summer and Tan are together here.
It should be perfect. Nothing in the colonies is ever perfect.
